Framerate drops rapidly
I have some framerate trouble while playing PoE and since i'm playing in hardcore its very very annoying when my framerate drops in bossfight that it becomes unplayable. I'm getting around 4second long framerate drops. I posted my specs just in case but i doubt its my specs since this game runs most of the time very smooth and some lag occurs when i leave town and use couple spells first time and when im in groups i dont get freezes and sometimes it freezes badly.

Probably all the particle effects with boss fights, Radeon cards dont run particles well in this game. I have the 5400 card and poison arrow clouds and every boss fight, i drop to the teens on FPS.
Every post i find with overheating and FPS drops it's a person with an ATI card. Hopefully since POE is in a soft launch ATI will get a driver fix for us. |

Some skills do this, ice based skills (especially ice shot), fork fireball, etc. Not just character skills, but enemies, like Piety's Ice Shot. Only current work around is to not use them. Or have a beast rig overclocked to the extreme. If it's not during these times, or you are not encountering these skills, than I don't know what to tell you, sry. |

It does seem to be ATI based cards with this problem. I included.
Smoother than Smooth.

I'm also an user of an ATI card( Integrated , on a laptop) , Radeon HD 5400 series.
The unexpected fps drops at Act3 made my HC char die at Piety, and I'm not feeling confortable playing this way :/ |

same here with ati card

Same here, I've also noticed it, especially when using certain skills like ice shot, or entering new locations. Got ATI radeon card too (hd 5650), but Im not sure if that's a card issue. It also might be some issue with slow hard drive speed (especially on laptops), many people had similar issue in Diablo 3. Some of them fixed it by installing game on SSD disk, some of them even used USB pendrive flashdisks ;) I hope there s gonna be some "low detail particle effects" option in future.

I'm never buying another ATI card again. It was impossible for me to play Guild Wars 2 too.
