Hardcore League: Templar GOD Build
If you are well equipped and you feel yourself tanky, choose Static Blows. If not, focus on building more defensive role.

Can I have a question what DPS you can see on lightning strike in your builds?
I am still curious if its really worth to také 20% chance to cause shock. I can imagine that its nice boost ... effective damage *2.2 its enormous damage boost. But if you will také in account that you have 1.5 attack per second - 2 attacks per second. (20% chance to cause shock) it means that for one shock you need to attack 5 times (aproximately 3 sec) for another one you need to attack additional 3 sec ... and I can really imagine that this is nice only for boss fights or in party, where you have a chance to help others with shock. Bonus from iron grip is unfortunatelly also relatively small (I make excel sheet and count everything and it add aproximately 120 damage with weapon with 150 average physical damage. DPS will be little bit higher based on attack speed. (the advantage is that you will have this bonus for evary lightning projectile - but you will not have any advantage from it when you will fight 1 vs 1, because I think that melle damage is counted as normal attack) bonus from shock can be even lower because you must to apply it to receive the bonus. Theoretical damage boost is really high but with 20% apply chance its very low in the end, the only use will be against mobs with high health and here you will be losing shock time on the other hand ... but with bonus from passive it should be fine... correct me please if I am wrong, maybe I am completely out, I just tried to count it in excel and it simply doesnt worth it so much. Thats the reason why I am asking if someone can provide which DPS you have on max level with lightning strike on which damage you are dealing ... So I will be able to check my counting. |

Nice mathematics mate! Here's why I've chosen shock:
Just like you said, it gives potentially a x2.1 damage boost to our total damage output. All lightning strikes have initial chance to shock the targets, like Glacial Hammer freezes the enemies. Take this chance and boost it with 20%, it's worth it. Good you think the same about the Iron Grip. I thought so that points invested in it is a big loss, and you proved this like the others in this thread. Still there's people who are overrating Iron Grip, still thinking it's effective as hell when it's really not. This might be explained by the illusion this build creates: We get so many Strenght that one would think that if we'd take Iron Grip, we'd boost our damage to quadruple times more than before. Another explanation why is it worth getting Shock because we pick up a few Intelligence nodes which will provide us ability to use Intelligence based armour and gems. Sometimes this could be very helpful. But thanks for the effort you've put into your question! :) I've got balls of steel

freshbrewed: This where I can see the problem
Lightning strikes have initial chance to shock the targets but not when you will take resolute technique. Than your chance to shock is only 20% - so every fifth hit will cause shock. Every mob can be hit maximum once with lightning strike. (maybe fork can change it - I am not sure) Glacial hammer with resolute technique shouldnt freeze. It should only chill them. but if we will count that... 1200 damage projectile 120 (to make it easy from it is iron grip - but only projectile, not melee part of damage) - so 10% to projectile damage, only projectile) shock on the other hand. 20% bonus (never first hit) to add 40% damage up to 120% 1200 - 40% / 5 is 8% average damage increase in first 5 hits and damage boost can be even better by the time and is applicable to all damage not only projectile damage :-D (total damage grom which we are counting is lower than with irong grip - so the result is in average 7%) SHOCK: duration: 5% you will apply 2.25 sec shock 10% you will apply 4.5 sec shock 30% you will apply 13.5 sec shock Melle damage: in average 8% better than irong grip per hit. So more hits better advantage. Projectile damage: after 3 hit its starting to be better than iron grip. Mellee damage = SHOCK is better projectile damage = SHOCK is better after third hit. so .... what to say :-) There is a possibility to také both, but thats a question if its not better to také something else somewhere else... Is chain worth using with this build? It seems decent even with 50% dmg reduction for the big packs (and they are the only things that can mess me up mostly). Its very mana costly though, and I haven't got blood magic yet (made the mistake of not going straight for it from the beginning)

Hi guys.
JuST wanna share progress, soloed Gravisious in Cruel, at first try. Now, to go to some difficulty im encountering as i progress to lvl 60. Im really having difficulty finding a 1H mace with enough DPS to matter for Merciless. Other 1H weapons seems better. SO im thinking of shifting to other 1H weapon, thanks to the build i just need to recalibrate the MACE specific nodes. anyone have a better MACE than this at lvl 60? so i wud have something to aim for? WUd appreciate ur thots on this. Happy Gaming |
