I further optimize the build.

I remove Body and Soul as it take 6 node to add 52% armor, and ES. Which ES is useless to us. In this build, we go for armor and HP. So following from Unwavering Stance, add 4 point to get Steel Skin will give you 50% armor. basically the same effect but you save precious 2 more points.

I also move into the Marauder starting nodes. Why? Because the starting nodes for all characters always give more bonus per nodes than those nodes that are further away.

Thumb of the rule for this build:

-Go for melee phys dmg (1h or 2h up to you)
-Go for armor/ Hp regen
-Go for elemental resists
-Go for lightning nodes
-Do not go for accuracy/ crit nodes/ ES nodes.

I believe this is the most balance and efficient built of a 1h/shield LS Templar with good HP and Dmg. :)

I welcome anyone which can further make it more efficient.


Hi, if u really intend to TANK, one of your major problem is getting stunned,
especially when ur mobbed, 20 mobs gang (like the monkeys which i abhor lol)
on you and u wont be able to dish an attack.
Thats why UNwavering stance is impt.

Hi, i did take unwavering stance in my build. And i specifically mention modifying the build to make it more effecient by going further down unwavering. As mentioned, its for softcore. I am at lvl 53 merciless act 1 and i dont find myself dying to stuns yet. its a 74 points build, you can go at least 84 points with unwavering shortly. no issues.

I hope people can offer more insights on how to make the build better.

I have been running this build (modified some places ,but nothing major)for the past 4-5 days now.At the moment I am lvl 67 2.5k Hp / 100hpregen/sec 2.6k dps on LS and 3.2k on Glacial hammer and 2.2 APS and on act 3 merce farming docks.

I love the build .. yeah I have to kite some places like those fcking dogs on docks that breath fire and some irritating ranged mobs like those viper in slums they hurt a little but my attack speed and dmg is high enough that I just spam LS and puff Hp full again.. when there are aloot of mobs charging me(its all about positioning yourself)so I just spam LS and my Hp randomly drops below 50%.

Yeah my gear is still crap still using pieces that 20 level below my lvl. But If I am like this right now how good will I be if I have decent gear.

The build is nice you just have to hang in there...and on a side note there is nothing better seeing a marauder die next to me in parties xD maybe his crap or maybe Im just gooooooo00d ^^

does the lightning strike benefit from 2 handed weapon melee damage? (simply melee damage?)

how the damage is counted?

I am little curious if damage from this nodes isnt counted only for first melee hit and then projectiles does not benefit from it. I also suppose that iro grip will greatly improve damage of these projectiles...

does anybody test it?
I want some suggestion on this build ! This is what i made for me and going on this, i´m thinking in use Heavy Strike for 1v1 and change my LS for Ground Slam. i accept any advice! ty

For all who is thinking on invisting points on the Iron Grip.

For my opinion you'll end up wasting alot of passive points just to get in there. The key in the stat allocating is to use your points in the most efficient way, grabbing the biggest bonuses for low cost. Going so deep for the Iron Grip will take you about 8 Strenght nodes + 1 point for the Iron Grip. With these points you end up sacrificing too much survivability. I'm not in the Endgame difficulty right now so I'm literally quessing how much survivability we really need. There are many factors that take count into it such as having a good gear. A good gear multiplies your invested passive bonuses alot.


Bear in mind that I made this build for Hardcore League thus it has considerably alot of defence & HP buffs just to make sure my character wouldn't die. Going for Iron Grip is recommended only for Normal League.

Sure you guys can modify my build however you want but just remember that this is made for Hardcore. Dropping survivability is okay for Normal League but for the Hardcore League it's bad choice.

Yeah that's true. Maybe i would take out both strong arms and the +10 strength linked to it. However i do not know if its worth it since that's a big % chunk gone from one handed physical damage. With roughly 410 strength from just nodes would iron grip make up for the losses? Anyone know the math for iron grip?

for iron grip. u get 2% PHYS DAMAGE for every 10 strength.
so at 400 str ull get 80% additional phys damage.

EDIT1. theres a thread that talks about the LS mechanics.
from there i got that LS is modified only by phys damage,
make sure u dont get nodes that say (only) melee.
(phys damage by melee weapons, it modifies LS).

EDIT2. i made some more research on IRON grip.
im coming to the conclusion that the additional phys damage
that will be added to the projectile (in case of LS it is the lightning)
is dependent on the type of weapon u have.
for example ur weapon does 70-140 phys damage. (not considering mods)
so if u roll 100 phys damage on the attack. the 80% (supposing u have 400str on ur toon)
is just 100x.8=80 phys damage.
This will be added to ur elemental damage to result to ur total DPS.
I was thinking before that the 80% wud be taken from the total DPS.
i have to admit i made miscalculation. 80 damage for 7 nodes...ill have to rethink it again.

Anyone got better explanation, is welcome to critic.
