[0.10.4b] Bow Marauder (The Shocker (tm)) [**TO BE UPDATED SOON 1.0.0**]

"
I have problem with merciless act3.

Ele hit 2800 dps
LA 800 dps

HP 1900 after aura

Ele resist around 50%
Choas -40%

I cannot solo pass Sarn Slum.

Please tell me what should I focus on.

u have spell totem/summon skels as decoys for those fast snakes?
So I noticed Venator is using a blackgleam quiver - is it worth getting over these two quivers (in terms of damage output only) ?

Tynux // Lvl 86 DW Ground Slam Marauder
Ripheuxa // Lvl 90 KB Wander

The value of a blackgleam REALLY depends on your bow. The main benefit is the (potentially) 50% physical converted to fire. If you have a tri ele thicket with good ele rolls and no physical damage rolls, an ele quiver with flat ele damage will probably add more. You have an imperial bow with +160% phys, +10-32 phys, +10-110 lightning, and a blackgleam will win.

Blackgleam can be a decent choice even with a low phys bow because even a plain 20% quality thicket has 23-67 phys, so half of that to fire is still an average of 22.5 fire damage (times all your ele bonuses), and generally flat ele damage is worth more than % ele damage (since you already have a big % multiplier from your passive table, you want to use your equipment to boost the base value).

As such blackgleam might still be an upgrade for you because your first quiver has a lower IAS % than BG, and no significant flat ele damage (would be surprised if the effective flat damage from blackgleam conversion beats a 30% boost with no flat to back it up), and the second quiver has no ias.

[edit] basically BG is a decent quiver all around, but its effect on DPS isn't necessarily worth the better def you can get from a regular quiver (life and res) unless you have the kind of bow that should be in an Iron Grip variant anyway. As nice as a tri ele thicket is, I am pretty sure it takes a near perfect tri-ele+quiver to beat a good Lionseye+blackgleam+IG, but at a certain point you just have to call that a separate build since not everyone can just drop 20-25 exalted on a bow. Luckily it is generally close enough that if you ever do stumble on a Lionseye (I know where I spend all my chance orbs :p), you can probably convert your build if you still have most of your quest based respec points and maybe buy a few regrets...

Like I said, it would probably be a slight upgrade for you, though not necessarily better than a random quiver with a bunch of flat ele and IAS.

It would effectively add an average of 24.5 base fire damage per attack, but you should be able to match that on a quiver (say 1-22 light and 7-18 fire flat will be pretty much equal), and the IAS is matchable as well, plus the regular quiver can have life and res.

If you happen to have any rings or jewlery with +4-50 or so lightning damage, that would have a similar effect on your damage, so you can take that on and off to get a rough idea of what the blackgleams conversion would do to you. Keep in mind that would actually be a little better than the conversion part of the BG, since you "lose" the physical damage when you gain the fire. If you can't get a quiver to match the IAS, BG might still win, cause IAS is awesome.

In general though, if your bow has no +physical damage mods, and you have a decent quiver, BG wont be a significant upgrade.

Im curious if people have chosen to go with GGGG RR or GGG RR B for there choice of colors and what also what support gems to go with LA.

At 5L and 6L, the 1 or 2 additional support gems depend on which build you decided to go for. If you do not take Blood Magic keystone, add in Blood Magic support gem in a 5L. If you got a 6L, add Faster Attacks or Chain. If you decide to go for the Blood Magic keystone, add in Chain or Faster Attacks in 5L, then in a 6L fill up with whichever of the two is left.

I would think with 6l GGGGRR (LA-G LMP-G Chain-G FA-G WeD-R Loh-R) or GGGRRR if you use BM gem and just decide if you want to use Chain or FA.

hey folks,

Thanks for the great guide.
I'm level 32, just started act III, and have to choice between Frenzy and Elemental Hit.
Can we use both ? If not, do Elemental Hit active frenzy charges ?

Thanks.
Yes you can use both, what some people do is use frenzy to charge up to max stacks for the attack speed boost then use elemental hit. Some people just use elemental hit. Some people just use frenzy (me!). All depends on what you want to do. Keep in mind that unless you already have Elemental Hit it is a drop only item.

Gotcha and thanks, I just bought Elemental hit and I'm really happy with it.
I used to have frenzy on my ranger and already I prefer the elemental hit, killing
bosses a lil' faster.
