...::: [1.1.0] TK's ST CoC Shadow aka THE WELDER :::...
This build is not for HC, as simple as that. For HC you normally want:
1) Very high spellblock, as most dangerous damage bursts are usually spells. Phys dmg can just be blocked by CWDT chain. 2) High life (6k+) with high regen / or high ES (8k+), to simply tank the damage and get out of the way. This build can't achieve any of that without sacrificing almost all damage. Increasing Field of View in PoE: /1236921

If you do get back into playing this character, do you think you could upload some videos playing against some of the harder bosses?
I'm talking about these: Lvl 70 - Villa Lvl 71 - Temple Lvl 72 - Jungle Valley Lvl 72 - Labyrinth Lvl 72 - Torture Chamber Lvl 74 - Residence Lvl 76 - Creamatorium Lvl 76 - Academy Lvl 77 - Shipyard Lvl 77 - Shrine Lvl 78 - Courtyard Lvl 78 - Palace |

Hi, this might be a rly dumb question, but im kinda new to all this... Why are you using LMP and not GMP ? :)

Hello
I decided to try some CoC build and found this. What I am wondering about is this - Spectral Throw can miss, yet there is no big investment into hit chance as far as I can see. I am nearly sure I am missing something, but what? :-D I am sure as hell you want to avoid missing since you would miss an oppurtinity to crit :-P | |
The minimal amount you do miss is negated by the LMP. That, and with up to 9-12 blades minimum you can have out at any one time (based on attack speed), missing isn't an issue, at all. Single target maybe, but position yourself right and that isn't an issue either. Large packs of critters...they don't live long enough for you to care whether you missed or not.

After playing for a while with 5L and reaching 72 maps, I came to the conclusion that 5L is mostly unplayable for harder content. Why?
As a 5L user, you have 2 options. First, you can run only 1 spell with LL, which makes your damage less than spectacular. There are builds with much better damage than this, ele buzzsaw for example. Second, run 2 spells without LL, which is what I did - your damage is great, but many situations which are trivial for other builds become life and death struggle for you, with frantic button mashing, panicking and trying to WW away from danger. Not to mention that without LL you can't take on any of the dangerous bosses such as map Piety. Also, reflect while in a party is an instant RIP if you don't see it first. How can I miss the reflect aura you say? Sure, when playing alone this is mostly not a problem, but in a prty with a summoner, another CoC user, or just any build which creates lots of distrction missing an ele reflect aura becomes quite easy. I will try to get Tabula and test 2 spells with life leech, but if that won't help against reflect I will spec out of this build, since constantly playing in fear that you might RIP in a fraction of a second from regular white mobs just because you missed an aura is not for me. Oh yeah, corrupting blood also gets a honorable mention. If you have a bleed flask you can usually heal it, but you can still die from that quite easily when not using LL. _____________________ On the other hand, this build is good with the following Vaal skill setup: Vaal Cyclone + CoC + EK + LL / LgoH / Inc Phys Proj Dmg This allows you to deal with Ele reflect when you see them, and you can safely cyclone even phys reflect, since CWDT chain will block all phys damage done to you. Cycloning into corrupting blood is guaranteed death though, but it is extremely rare. Increasing Field of View in PoE: /1236921 Last edited by Shajirr on Apr 22, 2014, 5:38:53 AM

I have the same issue as you Araycan, I ended up putting decoy totem with cast on crit and whirling blades + faster casting just so I could dive through enemies, put up a decoy and live through a fight. I also was using 2 curses enfeeble+chains to survive, which I now just use chains in case I need to kite.
I now added a bit more life, more evasion and block and running around 90% crit. I run a 5l and it's long overdue to upgrade to a 6l for probably life leech. I try to run around 90% hit with LMP just for quicker kills, which means less dying. Reflect destroys my build also unfortunately. I use these for daggers:

Your dagger's aren't that good for this build - they have almost no spell damage. You can easily get 100+% spell dmg from 2 daggers. Alhtough, you deal so much damage regardless so its not like changing them will give you much better clear speed) Decoy totem is best used in CWDT chain: CWDT+End Cry+Decoy+IC - this is for solo play, for party replace decoy with Inc Duration, since you already have 5 decoys running around ) Again, general survivability is not an issue with this build - it blocks/evades most of the phys damage, and what gets through activates Immortal Call. It is reflect, and to some extent corrupting blood, what kills you. And against elemental reflect you can't do anything if you di not see the rare, drinking elemental potions might help sometimes but for me it wasn't helpful since I just died instantly in a full party. This build has no defenses against ele reflect aside from 30% spell block. All evasion is useless since you can't evade spells. Other builds have it much easier - if they use phys attacks, they can evade reflect, and reflect just activates IC which blocks all damage done to them. ________________ Looks like testing Tabula won't happen for a while since people refuse to sell it for 2ex on Standard. Also, since Thorien_Kell doesn't update the guide, here is a significant change: Arctic Breath - this has the best damage now. It deals more dmg than Fireball, which is the 2nd spell now. Therefore ideal setup for 5L would be Fireball + Arctic Breath, both of which can shotgun. Arc is also much, much better now, it can chain 6 times if I remember correctly on a high lvl gem. Hey guys,
i started this Build two days ago and i am considering which daggers to take from my Stash. Are a good critchance and a high Spelldamage more important than a good attack speed and high phsyical damage? And is there a good unique Chest for this Build? I am playing this build atm running 69 to 70 lvl maps. I have kinda no problems except for mentioned Corrupting Blood mode and reflects even though that can be kited once you do not open a valve as soon as u see any monster. Ofc sometimes you make that mistake, but even maps with ele reflect were donable for me, since u can basically faceroll flasks all the time.
My gear is pretty low and I only have 5L armor running Fireball (really nice dmg) and Ice Spear (the point of this is the FREEZE in its second form and the chill duration, not the damage). About Arctic Breath - that might be a better choice once you have really good crit chance even for that since the freezing part of this build is imho very important. @DunklerKoenig The chest only has to have 5L, that is crucial and most important. Otherwise I do not believe there would be some (if so - look for crits and attack speed) And daggers - the main point is local crit chance increase (9+% crit chance), then attack speec so u can effectively (meaning quickly) throw daggers and keep moving around in case u need that. Other valuable stats are SPELL oriented, that is spell crit, spell dmg and maybe crit multipliers but that is not crucial. You do NOT need phys damage. Although if you are talking about leveling before you switch to CoC, than u want a high phys dmg daggers with attack speed probabl (thats how i lvled up, using dual strike) |
