I'm having mana issues even with clarity up. How do you manage keep your mana up without mana leech?

Did you pick all the mana and mana regen nodes already? With some mana and mana regen on gear, i got 276.5 mana/s which is enough to spam a 6l Incinerate without interruptions.

It's not very optimal like this currently, but i hope 1.1 will bring some form of elemental mana leech, as i really don't wanna use the gem. Until then, one thing you could do is using a Lavianga's Spirit or the mana leech gem.

No...that would explain it. Haha! I'm only level 33 right now, but I think I'll manage.
Tried myself against Palace Dominus and.. it worked well. Given, the mods weren't the hardest (+Fire Res + Monster Life and some others) but they increased the length of this fight by a lot. However, i guess for my current gear level it went very well.

@StylishHokie: Looks like i'll have to look up mana management while leveling. But i gonna do that after 1.1, until then i'd advice just use a mana leech gem while leveling and you should be set.

Free bump! :)

Just want to say that I followed your first Low-life Stormcaller guide since last month or two and that build was first char I've gotten to end game maps, I've really enjoyed it (but really makes you paranoid of chaos dmg...). You've then made a lot of changes on passive tree etc, forcing me to make new witch for this CI build (and not wealthy enough to buy regrets for respec)! So I've dedicated the LL SC witch to be a MFer of some sort. After about a month of only farming fellshrine, docks & (mainly) piety, from basically 0 wealth, I ended up with these gears:

Spoiler
Only just got the chest about 6 hours ago!

All together I've spent 38 ex, 14 regrets and 7 chaos on above gear, only self found stuff was the sceptre and dream fragments, plus was lucky enough to get a Taming for 13 ex before end of domi (flippers from domi must be extremely happy Taming still are 30 ex+ even after merge). Making about 40 ex in a month might be not much (to certain people), but I'm really happy that I was able to do it nonetheless.

I can't wait for my incin witch to wear all this stuff (only Lv47 atm), I literally melt everything even at low lvls! I just really hope the upcoming passive tree changes won't screw up this build.

I have one question, when you were running a 5L chest, did you have mana issues and needed the extra mana regen mod on weapon? I'm thinking of upgrading to a wand sometime soon with either Spell Dmg, Cast speed and Projec speed or Mana regen. I simply won't be able afford a wand with those 4 mods with good rolls (eg. your wand lol), might not even be able to afford one with 3 of those mods with good rolls right now, I don't know...

Anyway, my free bump has become quite a wall of text, sorry! But I want to thank you for making such enjoyable builds for me to play POE with. I'm looking forward to whatever guide you post next (just hope it's not even more expensive to be viable for maps haha)! :)

Hey there, always appreciate to see others having fun with my build! You got some sweet gear there, and with a bit more farming i'm sure you can also afford a good wand soon.

But now to your question:

With a 5L i never had any mana issues, it all came when adding the last support gem. Basically had to respec out of most the damage nodes just to pick up more mana/mana regen, and had to buy a wand with mana regen.

I'll consider switching Added Cold or Fire Pen for Mana Leech post 1.1, if i can make up for the lost dps in the tree. I hoped to get mana leech through Corrupted Items, but it seems to much of a gamble to make it a mandatory part of a guide, and it's not even sure that there will be some form of corruptable mana leech.

Currently testing a first draft of a new build, working really well so far and i hope people will enjoy it as much as i do right now. :)

Ah I see. Yeah, relying on getting right mods on corrupted gear is a massive gamble, I probably won't gamble that on gears yet, corrupting gems is probably safer for me!

I'd like to also add in to what was previously said, there is massive mana issues when lvling the witch. Even with clarity, wanderlust, shaper and 40% mana regen nodes, you still run out of mana pretty quickly, I have 2 supports linked to incin. Only way to solve this in my case is with a mana pot and raise skele + spell totem + minion health for meatshield, buying time for mana to regen without being focused.

Off topic: since you're testing new build, are you using the reworked skill tree or the current one? I just really want to know what's being changed specifically...

Looks like Mana Leech will be mandatory, for leveling and endgame.

I'm testing the build on the current tree, mainly figuring out gem setups etc. for now. I won't spoil too much yet, just gonna say next build is melee ;)

hey great guide well done!
i started my witch im lvl 23 atm and i love it already!

wanted to ask if it is possible to run lowlife with this build for MF with Wondertrap and the passive 30% more spelldamage? i would use it for Dominus and piety farming.

Thanks!

Low Life is possible with a few tweaks, but i wouldn't recommend farming Dominus without Shav's. Farming Lunaris however is very well possible without Shav's, just expect to die a few times when Chaos Dmg Exiles spawn.

Solaris Lorica would be a cheaper option, but you will need a shield and helmet with huge ES to make up for the loss on chest, which would probably cost more than an unlinked new Shav's.

Btw. for Farming i have set up Arc+IIR+IIQ in my Heartbreaker for culling, that way you don't lose any DPS with your Incinerate.

thanks for the answer.

i didnt farmed Dominus with any of my chars yet, are there Monsters with chaos damage?
would the 30% more DMG boost be much noticeable? and for LL, what Kind of other nodes should i take? ES? Ill take arcane Vision for sure.

also for LL which shield should i take? Daresso's Courage since im on LL? or even Prism Guardian for the auras? or more like ES and/or armor?

Yes, Alal in the second stage of the fight deals chaos damage. Not that much, but enough to one shot you with a very low life pool.

The damage boost will be noticeable, unfortunately can't test right now as i've sold my Shavronne's already. I'd definitely take more ES and Int nodes. Will most likely work out a CI and a seperate Low Life tree after 1.1, don't think it's worth planning something out when the tree is going to be changed in a few days.

I'd still recommend using Aegis. If you can't afford one, Daresso's Courage (get one with 6% block chance) or a good Archon Kite Shield with high ES. Always remember, the more ES you have the more ES you will regenerate.
