New Trading System IN MARCH 2014?!
" You don't have to -- check https://code.google.com/p/procurement/wiki/LoginWithSessionID. Shower thought: no two rares are the same. So rares are unique, while uniques are not. On the other hand, uniques are rare, while rares are not.

Why does everyone bring up an auction house?
Why not a buy out only market place where online only players can make trade face to face. Offline can be seen but nothing can happen. "Man, it's like we're fighting housewives and their equipment." - Millennium

" I agree with the above, using websites and tools that are not of the game makes me very uneasy. In my opinion we need a legit auction house(market place), or none of the trading systems outside of trade chat. And you are right, it is not a rocket science. A nutless monkey can write a crawler and with proper permissions assemble a searchable database that could be browsed with an ingame api. POE xyz and procurement are excellent resources, but i do not know who or what they represent. They are tools and websites that require money to develop and sustain, the fact that we get them for free worries me to no end. |

Of course we need that, because not everyone uses the damn forum to post to yzx.
I am sure we are losing more offer / demand movement on the economy because of this. When implemented, we are going to see a lot more variety on items. I think it´s going to be very, very good for the game. The game really needs it. Please make it happen soon GGG if possible on this next mini. |

" I believe that this is precisely what GGG wants to avoid. They're actively working to ensure a great deal of market friction. I'd guess it's because it makes it easier to scam noobs when price information isn't readily available, which creates those 'sweet deal' moments. I agree, would be good for the game, and the economy, but I think it's a bit counter to what GGG is shooting for. They view market friction and inefficiency as a good thing. But hey, they view desync as a good thing too... No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

" Admittedly I haven't been following the game much for a while so it could have changed. But early on I seem to remember Chris mentioning that they intentionally wanted trading to be difficult to make it worth the reward of getting what you needed via trading instead of grinding. I am probably paraphrasing a bit but I'm sure it was along those line. In a certain way I agreed with that, else trading becomes the only and best way to get geared in a game genre largely about playing to get the drops you need (at least until recent years). But that is assuming trading is just a system they are dangerously dabbling in, in a game genre where it stands contrary to what the genre is about. However the entire reason we have desync is because the game is always-online. And one of the biggest reasons, if not only reason for the game being always-online, is to regulate the economy. In retrospect, this finer point might have given me much broader clarity on the intentions of the developers for the way we play if I had not been caught up in finding a replacement for early D3. So my guess is that the only thing standing between PoE having trading systems and it not having them, is the presence or absence of resistance to trading in the game. inb4 PoE joins the ranks of cult-followed online games taken over by market capitalist wannabes. |

nice necro and lol you think a new trade system is in the works?
PoE is a trade emulation centric dungeon crawler. GGG is not going to waste their time on stuff like better trading system or AH and stuff, they only made the post to "buy some time" and to delay the QQ since most modern players are used to having a ingame trading system like AH and ect. GGG is just humoring players... they will just make a post in a year or two saying why its essential to keep the ingame trading as bad as possible compare to today's modern market standards... you know like how they said they will fix desync and then 2 years later made a post explaining why DESYNC is very very good for the game coz of hacks and some lols. Edit: and yes fanbois will just take w/e they say as words of god... and think that games that dont desync must be shitty games. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change. Welcome to PoE. Last edited by Pewzor#2343 on Feb 3, 2015, 8:44:32 PM
