[1.1.x] Party-Friendly, Multi-Purpose, Bow Crit (Physical CoC/Puncture/Lightning Arrow) Guide

I can't pay the windripper, have other good bow to use?
Yes. Any good bow will do. I made this with 1 Alchemy orb.

When i change the bow, is Critical > Damage?

And my actual DPS in Split Arrow is 252.1, is very low for my level?(37)
My gear

And my actual passive skills

You don't have any crit on your gear. What's your crit chance?

If it's below 30%, you will do more damage with just normal supports until you get a crit bow. Maybe keep leveling up with a different skill for right now.

I would move LMP to a different item for right now and just let it level up. It's not doing Split Arrow much good right now.

You also don't appear to be running any damage auras to take advantage of Weapon Elemental Damage, so right now all it's doing is making your Puncture more expensive.

Since you have one 5-link, work toward putting Split Arrow, CoC, Power Charge on Crit and whatever spell(s) you want to use on there. (Ethereal Knives, Arc or Cold Snap all work well with Split Arrow and Chain.)

If you like LMP/Fireball, have your tried Barrage instead of Split Arrow?

Puncture doesn't need as many supports as CoC does. You can put that anywhere until higher level.

Your tree seems to be heading in the right place. Looks like you're getting Bloodthirst in the next couple of levels. That should help too.

Hi,

Firstly, thank you for your post. It is quite complete guide and gives a good overview of what is possible to do with a CoC nbow build.

Since several day, I am leveling a shadow with a barrage, arc and arctic breath.

I thought, I had a good build (very similar to yours) but I have a big doubt.
How to get sufficient life leech to survive? Especially against elemental reflect.

I saw that you have some fire leech but it's quite impossible to get it (vaal orb on great values items is ..... very hard to do).

I don't see any other solution than have a life leech gems but no one on this thread seems to have one even on 6L items. So i'd like to now how do you get enough survivability ?

Thank for your responses

By the way,the rare bow that you craft from only 1 alch is due to a great luck. I thinks it is not reasonnable to try to get a similar bow by crafting. Cheaper to buy one...except if you feel lucky :)

It's very very easy to get 2% life leech on any piece of gear, especially a quiver for under 1c. Alternatively, I have chosen to go the route of using Thief's Torment which gives me life on hit and mana on hit so I am fine in that department. As for what bow to you until you find a wind ripper ? Easy choice for me was Quill rain, Ditch Deaths Harp for a quill rain and start to pick up Crit gear such as ammy, malgaro's etc etc. at 35percent chance at level 56 I was procing crits way more than with death because of the attack speed
Thank for you answer.

However, I am not so sure that a 2% will be enough to not kill my self against a reflect. In fact, I will probably go to a bow with 9+ crit and as much as IAS as possible so my physical will be neglictable unless if I get lucky (I hope so :)) and get one with % and flat or a lioneye's.

I don't like thief torment because of the lack of one ring, it could be very difficult to cap resist and have a strong life pool. Especially with unique glooves and future helmet (rat's nest).

I already stack crit get a voll but I just start so I don't have everything.

if you want to take a look at my gear and spec

I feel the same as you about Thief's, which is why I prefer physical leech. I don't have any elemental or spell damage on my passive tree and make up for it with Elemental Weakness curse. That way what gets reflected is less, even though I'm doing more damage.

If I don't have good party buffs, I keep at least one of these or Arctic Armour up at all times.

If that's too much button mashing and you just want to spam cast, Life Gain on Hit will allow you to do that to a certain extent. The other option is Life Leech + Vaal Pact, but I personally prefer to have the 11 points. It's really not that big a deal to check rare mobs for reflect auras. They have big spiky yellow or blue light coming out around their feet. Keeps things interesting. :)

Regarding crafting: I don't like the Transmute -> Alt -> Augment -> Regal -> Exalt, etc. route. It just takes too many orbs and the Exalt always gives you something evil like +3 Dex. I prefer just trying one Alch or a couple Chaos and vendoring the item.

Since you haven't bought a Rat's Nest yet and want to stack more life, Starkonja's Head is a nice, cheap alternative. I find myself switching back and forth between them.

Ok,

Thanks for your advices.

I also thought about vaal pact but this node require enough dps to make it really interesting. And I thinks windripper is needed to get that cap so I will need some time before get it ^^

I am still a bit worrieed about reflected for the moment but I will wait to encounter my first reflected mobs to get a better opinion :) and gives you my feedback.

For crafting ==> I was not criticizing how you do it. I also try to YOLO alch some items. But you say that you get your bow with only one alch and this is not really the average alch needed to get a bow like this :)

Oh, lolno. THAT bow was 1 alch. It took YOLO craft/vendoring probably a stack's worth.
It's still cheaper than buying a premade one though.

First post edited with some updates after mapping all week. New gear and flasks. Dropped the Charisma cluster from all versions of the build. Also added Acrobatics for soloing and removed the elemental skill tree. Check out SpaceJanitor's thread if you want to go that route.

Does anybody in Standard league want some free gear for this build? I'm trying to not be such a hoarder. Normally I just go dump stuff in town and make some newbie's day, but since this is pretty good mid-level stuff, I wanted to give y'all first dibs.
