Why Arguments Against AH Fail -- And A Suggestion

There will never be an ah :)

please, continue to waste your time posting rage qq threads about it though

And I have said that it doesn't precisely have to be an AH. Just some in-game feature that facilitates easier trading. That's all. But even so, the arguments against AH are all full of fail, and even Chris is foolish to buy into them the way he does.

the current system is amazing. The trade is amazing and they have already spoken of new improvements. If people would pay attention they would know the devs plan to use a Trade stash page almost like an AH or korean MMO where you set the items with prices and people contact you about them or drag and drop to purchase, alteast thats how I think it will be done.

I actually love this idea, and hope they are adding it.
It still requires players to have "space" to put the items being sold.

The problem I see now in the current trade system is this.
It takes too long to find an item you want.

The only bypass is using poe.xyz to search and find items.
Until they implement some sort of search function, I could care less what they are doing, and will continue to use poe.xyz.

If the current system is amazing, why are there ALWAYS threads about how awful it is? Further, why would you be so excited about changes on the horizon? I'm not saying that I'm not also looking forward to them, but the system (as is) sucks. That's really all it comes down to. I hope their changes make it into "amazing."

Amazing is hardly the word I would give the trading in POE except in the most sarcastic terms. How about frustrating, time wasting, infuriating, yada yada.

But, I have to say this about this thread, at least it gave me a few arguments to ponder (as did Chris's online chat). There is a fine balance I guess in the economy of the game. I personally just wish that having horrible trading wasn't the method they use to keep the botters in check or to prevent efficient distribution of items to the players.

As one person said, WOW used no drop items at the top of the food chain to stop the botters and make people "earn" the items. Frankly, it seems reasonable to me to slightly buff the high level uniques, make them be no drop, and also to fix the system so that you would not get crappy low level uniques in very high level zones. That would give people more incentive to play the map system rather than a mindless boss run schedule that promotes burnout. In return, Chris might change his mind and install a real live AH of yellow and good white/blues and orb trading could be started that would make the tediousness of most transactions go away.

Of course people would start crying about the unavailability of uniques, it's always something.

I think I need new eyes, or did I just read that correctly? LOL

That kinda made me go to your profile cause I had a particular feeling, that you either don't play much or don't have much to trade...and from what I seen and from what I can imagine - tells me I was so right with my guess.

You got 20 Characters listed in your profile from which by far the highest lvl one is lvl 67

You are a part of this community so you can say stuff that belongs to this game, even to this topic. But don't get mad if you give me the chance to look at you like you were a complete fool, by the way you make your statement. You rather have said nothing, cause the trading system in this game is not made for people who want to improve themselve, for people who want to progress up to and through endgame.

Did you ever play on a higher map than lvl 66? Do you stuck at piety in merciless? Well therefor I understand that you don't need to trade anything, you can wear crap and still beat that bitch, nothing of a big deal.

But stop saying things like "the current system is amazing" (big fucking LOL at that) when you barely even trade or probably barely even play the game.

Great post, even better arguments.
+10

You know, they could start a seperate league that as the only one has a AH (like D3)
purely to make trading more convenient.
Let it run a few months and see how it goes, let's see how many players would reroll into that league and how that economy would shape itself.

I'm sure everyone would enjoy it.
All the "it kills social interaction" preachers can stay in the old AHless leagues,
because eyeballing the trade chat flood shit is soooooooo fucking social, such enjoyable immersion, much deep feel brah, very gaming quality of life wow

Arguments...
Sadly you're right, lacking AH on this game makes trading a big fail... Almost.
We currently need a bank on this game so players get an income once per week based on currencies that account have. And we need auction house for trading easier, without real money of course.
Thanks for the supportive posts, folks.
