The armor posted on page one shows non-leveled gems, for the most part, because I posted it long ago. I have reached 20 or 20/20 on all my gems I intend to fully level. I was poor when i started this build, and used non-quality level 1 gems, which I leveled myself, and flipped for 20 quality, and then leveled again.

Here is a quick rundown on the the gems you should level and quality first.

1. Get a flicker strike with 20 quality as soon as you can. More crit on our main attack means more damage and that is great. Level this gem to 20.

2. Get 20 quality on Blood Rage at the same time as Flicker. Quality on Blood Rage means more life leech and since we rely on life leech to live, this is as important as quality on flicker. Level this gem to 20 too.

3. Get 20 quality on critical weakness and power charge on crit next. Both of these gems will increase your dps significantly. Crit weakness is straight up more damage on cursed mobs. PCoC is great the quality lets it do its job better. As crit chance goes up, keeping up charges because super easy. Once you get a charge, keeping it up is easier, because you become more likely to get another power charge as your crit goes up from the charges you hold.

4. Get 20% quality on melee splash. More AOE is awesome and makes your damage and freezing/chilling powers greater.

5. Get 20% on Lightning Strike. It makes projectiles pierce and makes taking on giant packs with LS possible. I only level LS to 12 because that is all the str I have. More levels is just slightly more damage. More quality is a much improved skill.

6. Get 20% quality on Faster Attacks, IIR, LMP, Critical Damage.

7. Get 20% quality on everything else, except the auras and reduced mana. It really doesn't matter on auras or mana since the quality provides nothing to us.

This is how mana leech works:

The recovery rate of mana gained from mana leech is applied at 12.5% of maximum mana per second. If you have 1000 maximum mana, and leech 500 mana with a single attack, it will take four seconds for that mana to be applied to your current mana. You always get the full amount of mana leeched, it is only the rate at which it regenerates that is "capped" - if you leech a large amount of mana during a battle, you may find that the regeneration continues long after the battle is over. Similar to flasks, the regeneration from leech will stop if you reach maximum mana.

The result of the mechanic is that with our insane phys damage we have endless amounts of mana flowing in but the rate of flow is slow unless we get more max mana. This is why I recommend mana on gear and % max mana nods.

Would be awesome if they add a "Mana Leech applies instantly" keystone similiar to the "vaal pact" one...

Anyone tried haste instead of anger if it serves better?

I have tried Haste instead of Anger. I find that Anger is a bit more damage but Haste is more convenient, with its faster movement speed. The increased attack speed from Haste is not as substantial because of the diminishing returns we experience from the stacked increased attack speed. Fire damage from Anger is the least important part of our damage since everything dies before any possible burning damage is completed.

I think if I had to choose one I would take Haste, because I like to move faster.

However, I am not running either, because while wearing Andvarius I have to run purity of elements to make up for the -20 resists of the ring. I am working to get more cold and lightning resists and then will run a level 20 Purity of Fire on mana (only 40% so it leaves us with more mana unreserved) so that RF doesn't burn me as much. I think easier RF is more convenient than Anger, Haste, and Purity of Elements.

iam lvl 25 and iam having trouble staying alive since i use blood rage , my life is going down , i have 1% life leech tho , should i stop using blood rage until i gain some level or quality on gem ?

Have you tried cast on crit? I'm wondering if CoC is viable with a flicker character... Maybe EK that way hatred can stack...

Use blood rage and just use 3 life potions. Pop them constantly and use some mana potions as well so you never stop going and you will be fine. A quality blood rage would make you leech more, and overcome the degen from the skill. Get a quality as soon as you can. Even before flicker if you are having problems. Are you ok with blood rage as long as you are leeching?Blood rage is hard to maintain without chaos resist, but in the end that problem goes away with the switch to ES.

I would like to try CoC with Flicker but I do not have a Shavs with at least GG to put both Flicker and CoC into, to try it out. I am pretty sure it would be insanely powerful since I crit all the time. However, I would have to use a Shavs to try it out with blood rage, or go CI and lose the auras.

Get me a shavs with GGGG (Flicker, CoC, EK, EK, and I promise I will test it out and make some videos. It would be fun to watch it mow down large packs, but I don't know that it would be more efficient that Flicker against bosses because I understand that CoC doesn't work as well when there is only one target.
