Flay' Flicker Finder - 800,054 DPS, 50/390MF, fast clear speeds. [New pics in MF gear/FAQs]
Man,
I wanted to craft ambusher for this build. While i was looking to get flat physical or IAS. I get spell damage and it boosted my damage pretty well. It is prefix, so i wonder if the top roll flat physical will gain more DPS in total of flicker strike. I ve eternaled it ofc. Wanted to know before trying for IAS. IGN: LUTHIL

I think spell damage that high on a weapon is amazing. I think my perfect weapon would be an Ambusher with the following affixes.
prefixes Physical % - 160%+ Flat Physical - 22-42 Spell Damage % - 70%+ suffixes Critical Chance- 35%+ Attack Speed - 26%+ Accuracy - 321+ That said, the spell damage is not quite as important as a high flat physical. Spell damage does increase our physical but the flat physical raises the base physical, which is better. Your dagger already has 2 prefixes with the pure physical percentage and the hybrid with some accuracy. So you don't have free prefix to get both flat physical and spell damage. I don't know that I would reroll the spell damage because of the incredible expense and the less than perfect 2 physical percentage prefixes, and because your spell damage is a great roll. But you won't have as high physical damage and thus as high of cold damage and will depend much more on lightning and fire damage. I am trying to craft the above ambusher from the ground up, ilevel 78. So hopefully I can get some luck. ~~~Build - Flay's Flicker Finder - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/733257~~~ ~~~Shop - Flay's Fantastic Flea Market - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/631082~~~ Last edited by Sblak#3093 on Jan 12, 2014, 10:11:22 PM

I think it's a bit misleading then to advertise numbers with righteous fire. At least, point out in your guide that all the DPS values you talk about are with righteous fire. Any build with righteous fire numbers will seem OP but you know that righteous fire is not really sustainable for a decent period of time because you're vaal pact. I was wondering where you were getting your numbers from because all these numbers seemed out of reach with my BiS items, only matchable if I were to forego all defensive auras in favour of offensive ones.

Hey dude, I've been thinking about this build off and on and I just realized something.
If you want to instagib everything before it can hit you then why focus on dmg per second and not dmg per it? You could take multistrike out, I mean it's really a huge boost for your dmg per hit. Keep the melee splash in, and just one-hit-NUKE mobs instantly. Replace multistrike with maybe empower? Keep multistrike handy for bosses? It's not super hard to swap a gem before thrashing say... Dominus Some other stuff to consider could be like swapping item rarity for additional accuracy or crit chance. I'm just trying to shoot you some ideas for more dps. |

The fact is; even with multistrike, 10k perhit tooltip is more than enough to 1 hit minnions. So its not necessary to increase per hit damage.
In that case, its almost a must to have multistrike due to reaching closest enemy constantly and farming faster. But for boss fights, you might be right about the per hit damage. But in the end, the overall dps calculated via per hit damage x AS. Even with higher physical damage low AS, i would always prefer IAS for this build. More crit chance, more elemental damage, more leech etc. IGN: LUTHIL

@Monist and @Gurko
You use multistrike not for more damage or less damage, but to preserve your frenzy charges. It lets you hit much more often and kill more stuff per frenzy charge. This also mean that you do more damage per use, and thus are more mana efficient. Finally, I use a fast hitting dagger and multistrike because less damage per hit means less chance to instagib yourself on reflect. Less damage per hit but faster hitting is a good thing in all aspects of the build. If I could hit six times per frenzy or many mana cost, I would take that deal. The echoing shrines in domination are an example of what I would dream of. They make us near immortal. I focus on DPS, because I already instagib everything. EVERYTHING except bosses. For bosses, the DPS over time (specifically in about 24 flickers, because I have 7 frenzy charges and only that much mana) matters, and so I am left to focus on it. Although higher hits are awesome, and I have frozen (frozen, not chilled) Piety in Lunaris. And Oak in the Dark Forest. And a few other highish bosses. The instagib game is over and I won already. @Biggerboom You are right that we don't sustain RF. But we can still keep it up. It is not that hard to sustain RF for long periods of time (maybe 30+ seconds), as long as I am constantly leeching. When the mobs disappear I turn it off with a dousing pot. I do this with a ruby flask of movement/refill on crit and can go about 8 seconds to reach the next pack. I hit so hard I am always full ES in one hit with RF on. The problem is not sustaining it normally. It's sustaining it against desync. One long period of desync means the servers don't let you leech, and you end up dead in a different location. This is why I don't use it much while leveling. After I level I use it all the time, on bosses on 75+ maps, on 6 man groups, and so on. When I don't care if I die again, after I hit 90, I'll do some more videos of running around with RF in a map. If you are now thinking, why RF at all if not for the numbers, there is an answer. Because it is good to have a "burn hot" button to nuke bosses. Turning it on to make the most use of a couple frenzy charges to kill the boss is a good thing. I use it on Dominus in his first form and then turn it off. I use it on Megaera. On Piety in Shrine. I use it, they die, I turn it off. Other than them and a few other hard bosses, I don't need it to kill most bosses with a critted flicker or two. Doing a 73 canyon, like in the video, it is unnecessary. Theoretically, if I had a button that would let me do 10 times the damage for 2 seconds but kill me in 4 seconds if I didn't turn it off, I would use that bottom to stomp bosses. For our weaker levels of regular defenses, our offense and burst damage is our defense. ~~~Build - Flay's Flicker Finder - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/733257~~~ ~~~Shop - Flay's Fantastic Flea Market - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/631082~~~ Last edited by Sblak#3093 on Jan 13, 2014, 2:42:40 PM

I have tried with a 342 pDPS dagger
Imperial Skean 92-278 physical damage 6.98 crit 1.85 AS thats like %176 physical damage , 14-27 flat damage, 23% IAS +94 accuracy rating compared to my spell damage dagger, physical damage almost didnt change (increased by like 300~) So that i am thinking to just roll it for attack speed. 1.60 to 1.85 AS increased my total dps like 23k. Went up from 149k to 172k. (no RF) So, i dont think mirrored daggers will make soo much difference since they are mostly focused for highest physical damage. (i am only afraid that 10+ crit chance would scale so high) I will craft mine with spell damage this time and lets see. P.S: Sblak, can you please check my daggers mods? I remember i had bloodthirsty 129% (top of it) and seems Mercenary's hybrid mod rolled for it. If so, there is chance to get %183 physical damage? and 69 spell damage max? I think you are mostly right. Mirror daggers are not made with Crown of Eyes in mind. They are too slow and have a lowish second physical % roll instead of the better spell damage %. That is why I am crafting. I think spell damage should go on our daggers.
But you get that incredible bonus from spell power because you have no other spell power I would guess. I have a couple nodes by shadow and some on the q RF gem so I would not get quite as big of a boost. And we can't ignore 300 physical because physical is the most important damage because cold comes from it and because higher physical in effect pierces armor but high elemental is still absorbed by high resist bosses. I will just say that when I got the pure physical roll I kill stuff much faster now and my average hit wen up quite a bit. But I already had the single pure physical %, attack speed and crit rolls. The pure physical roll may be one of two rolls and it could let you get up to 180 but it is between the two. You have to divine to see for sure. If it goes up really high it is in the higher, lower by a bit and it's the lower. ~~~Build - Flay's Flicker Finder - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/733257~~~ ~~~Shop - Flay's Fantastic Flea Market - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/631082~~~ Last edited by Sblak#3093 on Jan 13, 2014, 10:05:38 AM

Starting to get some decent gear, with only a ring or two really needing an upgrade for a while. Would you be able to check my gear and see if there is something I should aim to upgrade asap?
I also bought this dagger upgrade just now for a few ex, and am contemplating divining it once I get some currency to get a higher crit roll. Is it worth doing so? I'm not sure if the chance of that happening is high enough. A couple exalts for accuracy and spell damage will be a future project. :) Gear:
Spoiler
At 6900 damage per flicker strike with only frenzy charges right now (75k dps), so I am quite happy about that. But gems still got some leveling to do, and am still missing some fire and cold resists to be capped on all resists. Current build:

Next point will of course go into Nullification. Probably going for Mana Geyser after that as I only have about 150 unreserved mana right now. Last edited by ClinchClonch#4417 on Jan 13, 2014, 12:01:40 PM
