Have a question guys. This is my mace

Currently I'm trying to decide if I want to use concentrated effect and lose 30% area but gain 70% damage or use added fire damage.

I have 6700 dps with concentrated effect or 5500 with added fire but 30% more area of damage.. Any input? I find with the extra range I can stay away from enemies longer due to stuns... the extra damage is nice though. help.

I like more range, you have enough damage either way.
yes, you answered yourself - bigger hits -> better stun, if its what you need... sure.

So is it really necessary to take the mace damage nodes that the OP has taken in his build to pull this off? They seem like a waste of time....

ive got 2x 5l and wondering how to link it to leap / heavy strike, 4 slots are simple -> skill itself, faster attacks, added fire dmg, melee physical dmg and what as 5th? im running 5% life leech from gear, thats enough for me now, life leech gem i can put when i encounter stronger map or boss, multistrike on heavy strike is IMO bad as i wont be able to stunlock stronger mobs and on leap it takes all the fun from traveling fast, i added weap ele dmg there... it boosted my heavy strike dps by a lot (7,6 -> 9k for lvl1 weap ele dmg), but not sure if its max what i can get? are there some other gems worth considering ? (my stash is pretty empty, so couldnt test myself)

PS
i dont want iiq or iir gems.

Damage is needed to stun, so if you plan on stunning enemies than yes, damage nodes are necessary.
This is a VERY VERY NICE guide! However, could you please consider doing level/skill progression between acts? I am very lost on where to put my skill points and don't know where they should be. I have the first few down but after I get close to Resolute Technique I get very very lost. I also feel some people would like a progression part to the guide. Up to you though. :)
I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

People say they have about 6000 dps using this build? o.O

As far as I understand our damage comes completely from our weapon and our skills.

This is my weapon: my groundslam dps = 2141.8
I have the links on my other items, still need to link these gems. And I only use leapslam to escape, so the skill gems in this item are all independant.

any help?

You will need to 5link your weapon or chest armor. Swap life leech gem for an 'offensive' gem. Eg Heavy strike + melee physical + added fire + weapon ele dmg + faster attacks

Get some gears with life leech to sustain your life pool. (Carnage heart ammy, wurms molt belt or rare gears)

And also, use hatred aura. Its pretty damn good.

@zawish Weapon ele dmg is the best choice.

Just wanted say thanks for this guide, which provided a solid starting point for my first character here :) I'll try more quirky builds later, if I ever get over the rush of ground-slamming the opposition to pulp :p
Thanks for this build! I'm using it on my second character and now I feel confident that it will work although a melee class, thanks to your build!
