1.3 [Newbie Friendly] GROUNDSLAMMER BUILD
Been loving this build. Even with my so-so gear I've been cruising through maps (currently level 36):

Awesome build. I've been using this for a while now, though I use leap for the moment.
I was just wondering why go top of the tree and not just continue the bottom? You can get SO many life nodes from there that it's absurd. You can even get evasion nodes from there if you need more armor... though I do admit that you lose some damage and one endurance charge. |

I think I screwed up my character and I'm in need of assistance. I'm currently in Act 1 Merc and I keep on dying. I rushed for through maps without attacking to get to Ledge and farm there with a party and level to 60, but I still die. I have 10 refund points. Please check what I've done and tell me if I can fix it or if I have to start over. Tyvm in advance.

" you dont have hp....56 + 40 ... i have that much from one piece of gear. whats your hp? in act 1 merci i had 3k hp.... what are your resists? whats killing you? ele dmg or physical? and change that weapon, it was good till 57, now you can get decent karui maul that will increase your dps. your gear is pretty .... weak, try to get some upgrades, hp+resists wherever and better weapon i would mby respec those armor nodes near unweavering + lightning resist in mara tree and put it all in templar hp nodes, but mby thats not necessary IGN: Tamenath/Zawish/Mevev/Moldorn/Hayna Last edited by zawish#7888 on Apr 12, 2013, 6:03:42 PM

First of all thank you for that build. After creating my first character and skilling him very badly, I looked for a nice build and found this one 2 months ago. Yesterday I became lvl 79 and it's still my best leveled char and my favorite one. Today I got my first 5-linked chest from a friend and now I want to show you my progress (maybe you find some improvements :) )
First of all my skill tree:

as you can see I not only took several life and regen nodes I also took many damage nodes and some that increase my attack speed. 1 hour ago I decided to take off one 18% increased Endurance duration and the 0,2% increased regen per charge. Why? I checked the difference between my normal regeneration and the additional reg. It goes from 222/s to around 260/s. For me, it isn't a big difference - I just don't feel the difference. The same for the increased duration. Maybe I'll choose them later again. My next plan is to increase the armor. In your actual build you took the iron reflexes. I'll consider that. Might be an idea. Now let's take a look on my gear:
Spoiler
As you can see my gear isn't that good. Good news is: the creator of this build is right: this build is quite gear independant. It took ages to get this gear. I have many mods that are useless for me (mana regen, crit-related thingies and so on) and have only around 1200 armor (9% estimated damage reduction). At least my whole equipment give me enough life and good resistences (some chaos, too). My beloved mace is a nice random drop and is quite new. Finding good weapons was very hard for me so my friends had to find most of them :| I know that's not a high value drop but gave me 1000dps more than before. My choice of skills should be clear (and you see them in my equipment):
Spoiler
Heavy Strike for 1 or 2 enemies - 7937,7 DPS
Ground Slam for 3 or more enemies - 3371,2 DPS Leap Slam for rapid task force moves (jumping into some enemies, quick-help other players and a fast retreat if the game wants to (desync...) - 2210,4 DPS Then, to get some armor and passive extra damage, "Molten Shell". It doubles my armor and is a kind of indicator how strong my enemies are (how fast they break it). Warlord's Mark to get more Life Leech and get some Enduring Charges. A Decoy Totem to distract or collect enemies to attack them either with Heavy Strike or Ground Slam. Enduring Cry to get Endurance Charges without killing enemies or reset the timer to keep them. I've built in a Grace now if I decide to get Iron Reflexes but don't use it yet. And last but not least an overview to some of my stats:
Spoiler
HP: 3694, ES: 44 Armor: 1251 Evasion: 434 HP regen: 222,1/s Overall life leech: 17% (with Warlord's Mark) Fire resistance: 66% (dropped from 80% for the sake of 2000 more DPS) Cold resistance: 69% (dropped from 77% for the sake of the 2000 more DPS) Lightning Resistance: 80% Chaos resistance: -36% Main attack (Heavy Strike) with 7937,7 DPS and 2,67 attacks/sec (123% increased attack speed) That's it for now. It's a lot of text, I know. And even though english is not my native language I hope it's still readable :) edit: I swapped the Melee Physical Damage of the Leap Slam with the Heavy Strike's. I didn't do it before because the Heavy Strike's has more XP but it doesn't make sense anymore. The new DPS is now 7972,6 DPS and 2200,7 DPS. Last edited by Lesserli#7812 on Apr 12, 2013, 8:04:47 PM

" Yes, he is right. Your gear really doesn't look very good. Your hp from your gear also stack with your "x%-more-hp-nodes". That's why the creator of the build says, hp mods are high priority stats. I still have my old Kauri Maul. I dealt 4000something DPS with a Heavy Strike with it. Maybe we can trade, if you still don't have a better one. Then, get a better helmet. That...bucket you wear...not even exile prisoners should wear that. Same with your gloves. There are way better ones. Your amulet is quite useless. You should have enough strengh to keep your gear and gems. The 19% rarity is okay, but as long you die too fast, you need other stats first. The rings are not that bad but since they are only blue they don't provide many stats. Either look for grey rings and try an orb of alchemy or you need luck to find a rare one. The belt is okay. Tri-ele is always a good thing but there might be also better belts. Look for "Lesserli" or "MorkvonOrk" (one of that should be correct) ingame. I have several items in my stash, some of them are part of my old gear, so there should be gear to increase your survivability. As far as I can see, your resistences should be 24/49/62/-60 - lightning is okay for act 1 but especially fire is way too low. With good resis and a good life regen most elemental enemies just tickle you. Your stats are good when a group of spark-casting or fire-casting enemies fire at you and you don't take damage. |
