Barrage Wonder Wanderer – how to DEMOLISH maps (1.3.X)
This was my last of five builds on Ambush, I only hit L60 on the last day, and I must say it's quite fun.
My wands are L59 so I only tried switching to the build then, doing Wand+Board. It was awful, I took forever to kill whites at Docks using an Evasion 5L chest. I guessed my gems were underleveled so I leveled up Arc, EK and Arctic Breath from 13/14 up to 16 [edit: using a different toon on maps]. I then also used my Summoner's Tabula and it was much better, but still not great. So I read the OP and learned about the Twin Terrors nodes, which previously I had never noticed before. Once I got those nodes at around L67 the build really shined--mob killing both faster and safer. I had to get rid of my diamond rings to make up for the lost resists from the shield, but the higher crit with AB means more mob slowing and freezing and so net safer than when I was using the shield. What I really enjoy is I can switch back and forth between physical vs elemental damage, though for my gear and tree physical is higher DPS. I find Arc very good for handling difficult ranged monsters like the poison bombers. I was wondering if anyone can suggest which nodes to take next to up my DPS? One of my wands does not have much spell damage, and I just saw on Standard that it looks pretty hard to afford an upgrade, from what few wands are on sale. My wands below have a total of 84% increased spell damage.
Spoiler
With no power charges up my crit chances are 56 and 57. Which of these options would most increase my DPS? 1) Spend 4 points to get 45% Crit Multiplier from Throatseeker nodes (I only have Crit Mult from Pressure Points and Assassination from tree, none on gear) 2) Spend 4 points to get 32% increase spell damage from Shadow start [edit: I used Ranger] 3) Spend 5 points to get 60% more crit chance from tree I'm guessing the DPS gain is in that order above. I read in OP that best not to get more multiplier due to reflect danger, but I think my DPS is not that high anyways so less need to worry about that. What are the leveling notes for elemental build?

" You basically need to level using some other main skills other than Barrage+CoC, but keep the core gems on weapon swap so they also level. Had I used my Tabula (6L) and had better wands, maybe I could have switched over at L59 and continued leveling gems up rather than using another toon to level the gems. I happened to use facebreakers to level, you could just as well use ST with cheap uniques or fire trap or SB or many other easy leveling approaches. While I didn't follow this guide, my tree is sufficiently similar (there are only so many global crit nodes on right side of tree) so I just grabbed nodes that I planned to use anyways, focusing more on life where possible Edit: What I said wasn't quite right, there are quite a few more crit nodes. I only planned to grab the big crit clusters of Assassination, Bloodthirst, and the single Mental Acuity, leaving the rest for decision later. Even now I have not grabbed any more crit at L73 as I've prioritised life/defense, but I'm sitting on 5 unused passives right now Last edited by crushkyle#0124 on Jul 7, 2014, 10:33:09 PM

N00b question: What is the reason for not using two wands (and not speccing into it) in the elemental path? Survivability? Thanks! :)

" Yep. You become a good bit less tough when you switch to Voll's Protector over Lightning Coil. |

Is it worth to grab IR on and dont grab Ondar's Guile elemental path or is it better to stick with the chance to evade?

Why not just go Ci vaal pact with this build?
6l volls decent es helm + shield + rainbowstrides + malig would work wouldn't it? You could use blood rage on top of that so you gain attack speed and cast speed. You could potentially gain another power charge by going to the left of the shadow for some es and spell dmg nodes MuchHit

" Living CI characters are always on full life. |

Except that frenzy charges give both.

" My mistake. I had assumed you were referring to the low life bonus. |
