Only level 15, but I'm having a ball with this build so far. My level I'm about to get to the point where my passive skill selection gets a little more complicated and questions are arising. Maybe they've been answered already, but I didn't see it in the OP and this build is cool enough that you've got 64 pages going, so yeah.
First, I see that the build appears to grab Nullification and then respec out of it later. Probably this is, as I suspect, a temporary added bit of defense to help the player survive the Skillgrimage. Not really much of a question, as I'm quite sure if this really was an error/incomplete revision you would have caught it by now.
Also, I am curious about when specifically Lightning Strike might start outperforming Freezing Pulse, because I'd rather not bother getting Arcing Blows until that point. Is it not until the Templar's Weapon Elemental Damage and Catalyze nodes are taken (~89pts), once you start getting more weapon nodes (~73pts), or before that, as a natural result of the way different skill gems scale with leveling/gear?
That's all. Thanks for this great guide, and I look forward to seeing your impressive RF Cold Templar gain recognition as well.
Hi guys, hI Invalesco,
I started playin poe with the launch of the open beta, and began with a shadow with this build. I am level 69 and already able to use bloodrage. I wanted to thank invalesco for this guide, this build is a very funny to play and reaches all my expectations to play this game fluently. I am rockin docks solo on merci and maps are also easy to play.
My gear to, i had to build to achieve bloodrage and 4 up auras (wrath,Haste, vitality, hatred)

Damn, playing around with my sockets/links/colors to use blood magic on different stuff and of course I'm trying to roll RGG on an armor/es shield. Assumed 80 chromatics would be enough, guess again ^^. Guess I gotta start a new character and get some more chroms/fusings :P

I'm so smart I scare myself.

flasks are 2 hp 2 granites 1 mana pot.

As other people can probably tell you, I don't really have very good gear for level 70. But I can finally clear docks without a problem (I couldn't do this in cruel at all). I really struggled with this build (first character ever) but it's starting to come together, even though I still need quite a few things (reduced mana gems x2 and enough Chaos res to run blood rage - currently -44%). I actually took EB later than the guide suggests (because I didn't have enough ES to make it worth it). I would say if you have somewhere near 150 ES its probably worth speccing into. When I did, things really got better because I could run more auras and spam LS a little more. I misspoke earlier, it's clarity hatred and anger im running (not wrath). EB not only increases your base mana, but this in turn increases your mana regen. Big help.

The core of this build, like people have said before me, is a good dagger. It helps in 2 very crucial ways.

1. more physical damage = more mana/hp leech from warlords and passive node.
weak defenses become less of a problem because you start getting more hp back. When I got my 5L LS going I tested how many times I could spam LS. on 0 mobs I could use it 6-7 times. Against a pack + warlords I could spam it probably 12-15 times. But you don't even need to because....

2. more damage = less LS required to kill mobs. mana becomes less of a problem

Honestly, the biggest help to me was a particular player(ign: knyphe) from this thread who sold me a dagger when I mentioned I was looking for a new one. Bought my current dagger from him, gave me the shield, and brokered the deal for the 5L chestpeice im using. I consult with him on prices and go to him for help with trading. He's got a better grasp on this build, the economy, and the game in general, which has makes his advice valuable to me. I have also talked to Nagarashi a few times and he's been happy to offer advice as well.

Add me in game (Prince_Jarvan). I'll be happy to help as much as I can.

Hello Invalesco, thank you for this guide.

Could you shed some lights on LMP vs Fork vs Chain on Lighting Strike?

I heard some people say LMP is useless on Lighting Strike because of the spread, you can not control it to hit more enemies, so it's better to use Fork.

What would be the best link for 5 Link Lighting Strike anyway? How about stacking all damage gem, does that work?

Thank you!
