Very new to the game myself, and am following this build, level 20 so far, in default league though, and i've had a great time so far, and no big troubles with monsters, so far.

Looking at the gear and gems, and there are two gems mentioned as LMP and WED these are acronyms for?

LMP: Lesser Multiple Projectiles

WED: Weapon Elemental Damage

I'm 90% sure that is correct

You can make it 100% =)
Hey guys! My first character on OB (Only tried the CB to lvl 24) and I've got some questions.

Right now I'm deciding what build to use, EB/Armor/HP or the CI/Crit dagger. I'm reaching that lvl when I have to choose soon or else I'll just be stacking Passive points.

Which one is easier to provide gear for and which one comes out on top for endgame content?

How much are you supposed to lvl up the skill gems and which ones to uppgrade first? Right now I'm lvl 36 with gem lvl 1 on everything. Currently using: Flicker strike, Lightningstrike, LMP, Frenzy, Wrath, Venomstrike and Warlords Mark

Should I use Lightning Pen or Added Lightningdmg for support?

This is the build I'm currently running (I know it got flaws since I've already specced increased dmg with daggers.) I'll use respecc points to polish once I've decided what build I'm going for.

I'm right now on my way to the last boss in act 3 and I die LOTS of times, got over 100 deaths on my character (Embarrassing I know). The range mobs just demolish me. My gear is probably really bad for my level, but as it is now, I'm all out of TP scrolls and Wisdom scrolls and it's just a pain in the ass. Saving all orbs and such I can find, so haven't used any of those to get items, doubt it worth it at low lvls like this.

My Lightningstrike got like 177dps. Don't know if it's good or bad for my level.

Hopefully it'll get better!

Thanks in advance.
Am also on the fence about the gem leveling thing, have no idea if i should stop, or just keep on leveling them. Highest gem at the moment is at level 6 if am not mistaken.
Hey Invalesco, big thanks to you. I´m new to the game and your guide is a great help! There´s just one thing i´m wondering about: do i really have to take the bandit quest rewards you recommend?

"
Bandit Quest Reward Choices
Normal: Help Oak for HP
Cruel: Help Oak for 12% increased physical damage
Merciless: Help Kraityn for +1 Frenzy Charge or Oak for +1 Endurance Charge

I overlooked this passage of your guide, so i took the +1 passive skill on normal difficulty. On the one hand i really want to follow your guide strictly, on the other hand taking the bandit quests +1 skill point seems more attractive to me.

I can't see it being that big of a deal. Granted 40 hp at normal difficulty is a pretty big deal but lategame the extra passive might be better.

For example, looking at the final build if he had 1 more point he could have +30 str, or +10 accuracy and +20 dexterity. Either of which is easily comparable to 40hp IMHO.

edit: if you are playing HC or otherwise struggling early game I would take the hp 100% though.

I think the reason for HP is because it goes well with all the +%life nodes, so that 40hp will be much better as you progress in the passives. This build gets all that it requires with the allotted skill points from what it seems.
Hello, I've been follwing this guide since I started playing 2 days ago, I've reached lvl 22 and I have a few questions:
Wrath Anger Hatred gems: in the guide you say that I'm supposed to kill enemies from afar by using Lightning Strike, why should I get in melee range to benefit from them? Same thing applies to Elemental Hit.
Gear: Can you please list the stats I'll be needing during the game? Like HP>HPreg>and so on...I think you should add such a priority list in the first post.
Dual wielding: Until now I've had no problems at all using two melee weapons, why should I switch to weapon+shield? I pretty much oneshot everything with Dual Strike, and I take care of larger packs by using Lightning Strike. For bosses I use Viper Strike at 4 stacks, a dual strike, go back to regen HP and Mana, and repeat the process...can you please tell me the pros of having a shield instead of another weapon?
Frenzy and Flicker Strike: I only find myself using Flicker Strike if I need to escape from a bad situation like if I'm being surrounded, and not using Frenzy at all. Are these gems needed or I'm just wasting a slot (Frenzy) in my equipment?

Thank you in advance for your answers

My advice is to keep leveling your DPS auras. Curses can be kept at level 1. Support gems should always be leveled as well. Other skill gems aside from the ones that increase flat damage per level (ie. Freezing Pulse, Fire Trap) can continue to be leveled if you don't have mana problems. If you do, check out wikipedia as to the mana costs of the skills and stop leveling them at the point where they increase in mana cost.

For instance, for lightning strike:

You'll want to stop leveling it once you reach level 9.

Erm I didn't quite get what you mean by wrath anger hatred gems. Lightning strike does benefit from those if that's what you were asking about.

Gearwise it's difficult to list it all in terms of priority, but on a whole, Life > Mana > Armour > ES

You will eventually need to switch to a kite shield for the implicit +24% to all resists once you progress in difficulty to merciless (-60% resistance penalties is a huge jump from -20)

Shields also have the ability to spawn the +life mod and have a higher block chance as compared to dual wielding, thus increasing ur survivability

For now flicker will be a utility skill yes. Eventually though you'll reach end-game where you can spam it with bloodrage on. One of you will probably get there soon I'm hoping.

Thank you for answering so quickly,
I didn't know that Lightning Strike does benefit from AOE auras, now everything makes more sense, I tought that those auras only affected melee auto attacks.

About Flicker Strike, I should just take out Frenzy and wait until I have Bloodrage?

Thanks again.
you should just leave flicker strike out of the build until later. it's not that usefull without a costant source of frenzy charge (aka blood rage).
also the next time if you are not sure about an aura or something just use it and check the damage of the skill before and after.
