Really great guide. Finally I can have a high dynamic playstyle character. Was so depresed when I had to go full defensive in Diablo 3 as my monk and get rid of my mobility. This build is the thing I was hoping to have in D3, but let's leave this dark past to itself. Currently Lvl 43 softcore as my first char in PoE and it's a blast. No problem in leveling so far. Skleton totem is really the best friend for taking out aggro. Actually things are now pretty interesting as I have to start getting the bargains with skill gems. Also some feedback questions. Can u go more detail into which flask mods do you preffer? Is increased armor the best option on granites? Why did you put so much Added fire damage onto skills? Burn > dps than Cold dmg freeze ? Is then Added cold dmg more viable for PvP?

Invalesco,
Thanks for your multiple guides and insight. This build is my favorite so far and I am so thankful to have people like you in this community as I would be completely lost in this skill tree on my own. I am level 30 so far, I've got Dual Strike, Flicker Strike, Whirling Blades, Lightening Strike, Wrath and Blood Rage and the build is really fun to play. My current record is 15 consecutive Flicker Strikes! |

Another question, how can I keep all those auras active and still use damaging spells? I only have Vitality and Wrath, and by keeping those two enabled I lose 80% of my mana pool :/ How am I supposed to keep even more on in the future?

At what point does mana become not an issue anymore. I am 30 and run out of mana very quickly.

@ChocolateDrop - your build looks fine! however there is quite a distinct lack of HP nodes. If you're not playing in HC then that's fine. If so, you might have some problems. If you don't want troll's blood, you're going to need alot of chaos resists in order to be able to deal with Blood Rage's chaos DoT. With regards to Mana, it will remain a problem until you guys attach the mana leech support gem to your lightning strike which you will get as a quest reward somewhere in cruel or so. " What about the aura gems? I'm keeping always active Hatred and Wrath, but I can't use Vitality & the other ones at the same time |

How do you think this build compares to the EK build as far as stability/potential for first characters given the OB reset? Additionally for new players if you want to weigh in on that as well.
I started off with the CI/dagger build, but did my best to respec to this build now. Im level 50, with about 4-ish points incorrectly placed due to the change. Im doing ok-ish... but not particularly well. Struggling to get through act3 cruel. Though I think maybe my gear isnt so great, certainly isnt as good as the stuff you linked a few pages back. | |
" Don't worry about vitality. Just level it for now but there's no need to switch it on at all. Only use it when you want to keep blood rage on, which will be all the way in merciless and when you're at 0% chaos resists. it'll still be a while yet Build of the Week 14

" tbh, the dagger builds, both CI and this version are particularly advanced builds to follow. I usually advise players, particularly the newer ones to start off with something easy, a caster build usually. the EK build or the Spork build are usually more stable and easier to play and learn the game from. I'm actually quite puzzled as to why so many more people prefer the dagger builds! Build of the Week 14
