[1.xx] Islidox's Build tips/critique section for Rangers

AS isn't really the keypoint in this build as it's more about crits. Obviously with smaller crit multiplier, having more AS makes up for the DPS loss in essence. 8% AS for 1 passive is pretty good considering. You get 7.5% AS per node going for Golem's Blood, but that's a minor difference.
EVR is very important. You want to have at least over 50% chance to evade so that half the attacks miss you and you cap out on your chance to evade projectiles through OG. Since I skip the Reflexes notable, the best way to increase your EVR is through the small L&S cluster. As for the quiver, I wouldn't even bother with a Blackgleam. So long as your crit mult is relatively low (and you're not using a Lioneye's), reflect should not be an issue. For Ranger build tips, tactics, and critiques, visit this thread:

Hello again!
Things are going well with my frenzy/iceshot ranger. I am currently doing 66-70 maps with a couple friends and doing well. Can you (or others) do a quick gear and build check to make sure things look ok and, most importantly, what gear needs the most attention. Thanks!

@Charger29: Your skilltree looks fine. Your equipment could use some upgrading.
Good helm, quiver, amulet, and decent bow. 1. Get rid of the Vitality in your %aura setup and replace it with Determination. This will be better as you get to buff your armor with a "More" multiplier. Losing Vitaility would also require you to grab the 1% life regen node in the Templar tree, but well worth it. 2. For your gloves, grabbing a Str/Int gloves would be better as you get the armor benefit while being able to retain the blue/red socket scheme. 3. As for you bow, if you can get a GGGRR linked layout, you can put in Added Fire Damage for more damage. WED may be a bit more costly, but also can be slotted in. If you're sticking with the cold element, then Cold Penetration or Added Cold Damage support can be used if you can sustain it. 4. What quiver mods should we be looking for?
I assume we're looking for a heavy quiver with: life 6-10 physical crit cahnce crit multi leech resists if needed accuracy Is projectile speed even worthwhile, since we'll be running faster projectiles for RoA anyways? On rings/ammy/bow/quiver:
+ mana/life leech + life + physical damage + crit chance + rez + crit mult + accuracy Rating + mana/manaregen In that order. Mana leech if you need it, otherwise it's good to have some life leech on equip. Edit: Projectile speed is unecessary if you're using Faster Projectiles (which you should). Is it worth getting carcass jack since we're using RoA? Or better to go with a standard pure evasion chest?

" Carcass Jack is actually quite good for this build, but you won't get high evasion as with a good EVR chest. Which means that your helmet should be high in EVR to make up for that if you plan on using Carcass Jack. Personally, I'm fine with the AoE of RoA with Concentrated area of Effect, but having more AoE can never be a bad thing since you still have to aim your shots. Currently level 64 2.9k life 325 es 8.2k evasion 78 all resist (75 without purity) 3k RoA 90% chance to hit Current Gear
