Just going to point out that even if you switched over to a regular physical damage bow, you can still one-shot yourself unless you evade/dodge the reflect. That's the inherent danger of using SA.

Also, how much HP, chance to evade, and % crit mult do you have? I'm curious because perhaps the problem may lie there.

But yes, Lioneye's isn't quite suited for this build that relies on evasion/dodge as it's main defense since you can't evade your own reflected shots.

55% evasion, 3K HP, 500 ish crit mult

please help, i'd rather not abandon my ranger as it was so fun to level up, once i got to maps, reflect mobs made this char in my opinion sub-par and unplayable

500 crit mult is a lot, but 55% evasion isn't bad. 3K life is a bit meh.

If you really like SA, then you have to have a bit more discipline with it. Firing off into the distance off-screen is bound to kill you. For now, try switching to a different bow and see if that helps. Also, reducing your crit mult to 400% may be a good place to settle.

Looking for a new Build after Respect, I focus on Electric and Life Tap. Is there anything new that's keeping the damage at a decent amount while keeping the Life bar close to full? Or is the Life tap build completely not worth it now after all the changes? Any information would be grateful.

thanks!
I'm using Build 8 on onslaught and I'm looking for suggestions on improving late game survivability. I've currently spec'd out of some crit so that I can get unwavering stance due to Chayula's Onyx amulet not being available in onslaight. This should keep my crit multiplier lower which will help a bit. I'm also considering getting a 6-link Darkscorn since its relatively cheap and should reduce all physical damage taken by 25%, but I'm not sure how my damage will be affected if 25% of my phys is converted to chaos.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
Meow.

@kodiak2971: If you're talking about LA builds with LOH, they're still strong as ever. Petrov's thread or the first several builds on the first page have what you're looking for. These builds should be using str/dex armor pieces instead of pure dex armor.

@Stoss: If survivability is your concern, something like this would be acceptable:

Took out 2 15% phys damage nodes, the entire Deadly Draw cluster, Coordination, and the path leading to Arcane Focus.

I'm not sure a Darkscorn Bow is what you're looking for. Sure, it can be use with CI users with no downside, but I think you get far less damage than a straight physical bow like Lioneyes or whatnot.

@Meowington707: I've taken a look at it, and I'm not really sure how you're going to dish out an acceptable amount of damage. With 7 keystones, you're spread all over the skilltree and it would take you into well into 80s to have an acceptable amount of defense and reach all the keystones in time. I can't say I recommend the build because you're stretched too thin.

Update: Currently lvl 79 with a new bow! Updated the Current Numbers section and Current Gear. Can't wait to 5L that and watch my Frenzy DPS shoot up another 1K in damage.

WOW!Amazing physical damage and awesome crit !
I have a 6.55 thicket also and I won't change it for a while.
Can you sustain a 15 level Arctic Armour ? I have EB and can't go past level 8.
To crit or not to crit ?
Hi Islidox, I was wondering if you could critique this build that I am considering. Its a crit/evasion based build that gets both EB and acro/ondar's guile, plus armor nodes to off-set the penalty from acro.

The idea would be to get enough mana to run 7 auras (determination/purity/clarity/discipline/wrath/anger/grace), plus hatred or haste if I can eventually get enough mana for an 8th aura, perhaps BMing wrath/anger if I were to get the BM uniques. Then have enough mana regen to substain lvl 10-15 artic armor, and perhaps for casting attacks as well (although it will likely require BMing the main attack).

Main attack for both single target and aoe would be RoA, and would probably be aiming for a high roll Carcass Jack. This is why I ignored frenzy charges on the passive tree. Gem choices would probably be RoA-ConcEffect-WED-manaLeech/BM for 4 link, 5th and 6th link would probably be a combination of IncreasedCritStrikes/addedFire/fasterAttacks/lifeLeech.

Offensively sitting on 51% attack speed/40% accuracy/35% projectile damage/50% phy bow damage/4% phy damage

With 92% increased armor from passives plus another 100% from a max rolled granite, on top of that add in 51% more armor from determination, you could effectively get about 8.8k armor from using a granite despite having acrobatics. Add in a lvl 10-15 artic armor and the evasion/dodge you having in general, I would think that the general weakness of an evasion based character would be more or less covered. This is sitting on 198% life/2% regen/188% evasion as well.

What do you think about the build?
