[1.2.0] Omjak’s guide: Maximizing Dps - MAJOR UPDATE 3. REFINED TREES:NEW PERMA FREEZE TOTEM VARIANT

Hello Omjak. I have a 90 split arrow ranger. For the last 5 levels or so, physical reflect was a much bigger risk than enemies. With high evasion and LGOA with Chain in my split arrow, I do not kill myself split arrowing into packs. I got that figured out. But my Frenzy got up to about 45k dps...I literally was at risk one shotting myself dpsing the rare with the reflect down. So I switched to Burning Arrow for single target DPS. Obviously, it doesn't get up to frenzy area, but it's actually considerably stronger than Fernzy for the first few shots so it works out. And it's not all physical damage. Plus it gave me a few more nodes to play with. Current DPS on it is 29k on BA.

But now I feel like I have hit a damage wall. My next level gets me 45 more crit. I'd like to upgrade some equipment, but I literally can't find anything. The ammy almost has to stay as it gives me the strength I need for max level Reduced Mana and I am mana based. It's the only item I have with mana - I play on a pool of ~150 it can't really get much lower. Are there any suggestions that jump out at you? Bloddlust is my next node on the tree.

I have 50 excess fire resist atm, 25 cold, and 0 lightning.

My Dream is to 6L this bow, ad PCOC to Split Arrow, grab the power charge node right by me, respec my frenzy quest reward and basically run at the crit cap. But I don't have much money, so that's not really doable, and it doesn't work without that last link. Not willing to drop any of the ones on it currently.

Why aren't you using immortal call? this will literly solve all of your problems...

especially if you run it on cwdt.

also if your using split arrow, you should go with life leech instead of LgoH. That bow and quiver are insane, you should really re-evaluate your gem-setup so you can utilize them to their fullest extent.

What you could also do is take out maligaros and get an ammi as suggested in the original guide, and then find a glove that will give you everything else you will need (+resists). If switch out maligaros as i suggested, your dps should stay consistent (maybe even increase depending on the changes) while increasing your survivability.

With that bow, if you find a way to take pcoc you could literly be doing like 60-70k dps on your frenzy very easily.

also, i don't really feel like your totem is really worth it. It will take you far longer to cast it and for it to apply shock stacks, than for you to outright just start using your main dps skills outright. But i also could be wrong, how is this working for you?

I have 4% leech on my amulet. LGOH on my Split arrow is amazing...I am unkillable in large packs of mobs as long as I am shooting with the burst from LGOH followed up with the leech from the amulet. And it also is money versus reflect.

I played with immortal call on CWDT a bit as reflect defense, and didn't like it. First you need to take damage for it to kick in, and in my case I was laready dead by my frenzy. And then the duration is so short, and often this gmae can be pretty laggy that it could wear before you notice it's there and you still die.

Great point about Maligaros...I never even considered that.

The totem...I love it but it's also uneeded. Moreso for fun. I try all kinds of totem combos and this one is damn effective. Packs of mobs don't live through more than a shot or two from me, so really time to cast it is wasted. Same reason I stopped offensive cursing. But it's really fun to see how well it shocks and freezes them its crazy. And in a few boss fights it's nice to have the diversion.

Great point about Maligaros...I never even considered that.

Then don't use it on Cwdt. I felt the same as you about its randomness, so i took it off cwdt and now make a habit of using it to dispatch reflect rares. the one part is that you will have to learn to recognize them before you shoot randomly. This may seem daunting, but with practice you will easily be able to identify auras (its not hard, trust me). You could even hook up cwdt as you have it, add in another support skill, and have immortal call on a seperate piece of armour and cast it at your whim. Cwdt is not the only option, and you should explore whats best for you.

With Logh with that setup, you will only be gaining like 420 life (assuming you hit all of it) per shot. If you feel like its worth it, then i won't try to argue against you. I just personally feel that LgoH is much more useful on LA setups, because each LA arrow hits 4 targets. Also Chain... this is cutting your split arrow dps straight in half. If you feel this is worth it, again i won't try to convince you otherwise.

Just try out other options, work on potion combinations even. Tell me about what you try, maybe i can give you helpful input :D.

As for your coursing/immortal call cast times and other stuff, try linking these with faster casting: you really notice a difference trust me.

Waaaay off. Split Arrow Chain is 6x3 - 18 hits. I'm at 47/hit now and about to q20 the gem. It's going to be over 50, but let's just say 50. So it's cap is 900ish per round. But that's assuming all hit. In large groups realistically it's more like 700ish I get per shot. I fire 2.26 times per second. So 1582/second. I have 5200 HP - so that is more than I'd get even with max regen from a Q20 life leech which is 24%. BUT - I also get 4% actual leech from my amulet. In high stress situations - LGOH + leech elsewhere gives me far more healing than what you are suggesting. Chain and high attack speed being the prime drivers of the reason.

Also - chain only cuts the tooltip in half. It GREATLY enhances DPS because one mob can be hit by soo many arrows with the bounces. Packs die far quicker than when I used Pierce.

Ok...so manual cast immortal call...you hit it and then shoot 1 frenzy real fast? If it didn't die, Immortal call and shoot again? I am intrigued by this. I pop a Jade when shooting against reflect right now. It helps...just doesn't eliminate the 100% possiblity of me getting hit (if I was using frenzy...I got it covered with Burning arrow).

nvm, ya i did the calculation rong xD, musta pressed the rong button on my crappy ass calculator and its kinda late. And like i said, if it works for you thats fine.

as for immortall call. well with my current three charges, i can make it last 4-5 seconds. how long does it take you to take out a rare?

Hmm, ya chain is great for concentrating your damage with gauranteed Aoe with the sacrfice of dps and high mana cost. I prefer pierce cuz i'm an Aoe nut lol (dem explosions man).

Not 4-5 seconds. So you manually cast Enduring Cry as well? And I guess if manual cast, you can let it get to lv20 so easier to get a full 3 charge Warcry.

Burning arrow is sooo easy...Not sure I want to respec back to frenzy and manually cast 2 spells each time I kill a reflect rare :( Gah lol

There is a reason chain has a 200% mana multiplier and pierce has a 110%. It's damage capabilities inside of game are superior. Mana is the downside to chain, but if one can handle the mana I can think of no reason to run pierce instead of chain with Split Arrow...it kills slower.

Also, alot of people have enduring cry on cwdt, hell you could have 2 of them on it (idk if this still works but its worth a shot). All you would have to do is press it once (assuming u have all charges up)

ROFL no I believe you. Although you would have to be pretty damn skilled to figure that one out.

Eh, i meant for LA. I'm a hipster, so i use pierce. besides, the regen is rediculous with Lgoh and gmp. Health cost is super low. i've literly gone from 300 hp to full health in one shot before ( i have 4k life).

also, if you take point blank, you could just stand on his face and do like 60k dps and take him out quickly. Hell, pointblank alone may help you.
