Hey Guys new player here. I have played the game through to cruel act 3, so I understand the basic mechanics, all my friends play HC and I have decided to make a HC character ( and a few more when they die lol) my question is, does this build work well in groups I want to make a shadow character as I like the model and initial play style but all the other builds that I can see are either not HC viable or require such good initial gear that its too hard for a newbie like me. I know that EK on the surface is too mana intensive but if I specced in blood magic would it combat this problem. Hi Comm, just a quick question: I'm now lvl 42 EK Shadow. I use EK and Bear Trap as main skills but i think the DPS on EK sucks somehow, at least it seems to me so. I have Fork + EK + Mana Leech + Added Fire Damage linked in my boots and my Dps are just 335. Is this normal or..? Dunno, when i activate Anger, the dps doesn't increase. Do i miss the point here? I would love to Link EK + Mana Leech + Added Fire + Fork with Iron Will or Faster Projectiles but i don't find or get a Armour with 5L - 6L on LvL 42 =/ In Comparison with my Mara or Templar - welp... he died today - they did round about ~ 1K DPS with Single Hit Skills and ~ 600-700 DPS with AoE skills and that without Fork. I know that Fork will reduce the DPS about a fair amount. Without Fork the damage is like 430 dps with EK. tl:dr= are ~ 340 dps on lvl 42 with EK + Added Fire + Fork + Mana Leech normal for an ek shadow? Edit: And which Auras should i use on my lvl? I have an 4L Helm with Reduced Mana, Vitality, Anger, Determination... but to use all 3 auras is impossible due to low mana leech. I got the mana leech support gem on ek but is not sufficient to manage my mana. Actually just 3 posts above yours you'll see the explanation that Anger doesn't work for Ethereal Knives as EK is considered a spell and not a physical attack. Not sure about which auras you should be using though. Why Determination, unless you are wearing all armor sets? And since Anger doesnt work, you could probably take it out. For people having problems with mana (after level 60), try out EK-FastProj-AddedFire-IronWill I have a 5L so I tack on Life Leech I'm loving this setup and with a wand that has 33% increased projectile speed, my knives go pretty far without fork/chain. This combo cut the mana cost of EK from 125 down to 84. my previous link was EK-Chain-FastProj-AddedFire-ManaLeech I run Discipline, Hatred, Determination, and Clarity all leveled to 17 currently (yes even clarity). I also tweaked the build and took out all the crit chance nodes in the shadow tree except mental acuity and crit only went down from 12% to 8%. I put these points into the Witch starting area on the left, grabbing the 12%+8% max mana and 20%+40% mana regen. (going down the path collecting 2 life nodes and the node with 18% ES) I'm at 90.4 mana/sec with no mana regen from gear. Can you switch out added fire for another added ele dmg? I keep having socket color issues and can only get ones for the other + ele dmg gems.
