[0.10.0] Eldritch Battery Ethereal Knives Shadow [Videos Included]
" I decided to try this build out as my first in SC for OB. When I got to act 3 it was impossible to keep up with mana plus I was getting absolutely owned all over the place. Most likely this was due to poor gear but I also felt I had over-leveled my gems. With Clarity and Hatred my mana pool was less than 100 and there was no way to spam EK enough even though it did decent damage. I had even dropped down to take the mana regen nodes. I decided to reroll and start with FP and LMP until I can find enough mana regen to support EK and I would pay a lot more attention to when I would level my gems. At level 21 now and the going is still pretty smooth but I'm still concerned about getting to act 3 and getting rolled again but we'll see. The amount of mana it reserves for the paltry regen it provides isn't worth it imo. I tend to just run hatred alone and use mana flasks. Phaeded the name of the tiste andii from malazan I presume? I was just about to fall victim to despair when I realised I've all the resource I need to my disposal. Probably the reason you got pwned in A3 was your lack of resists. Depending on the enemies I go for 2x fire resist rings or 2x lightning resist rings. They prove to be of tremendous help vs fire mages, lightning skellies or lightning flicker strikers(?).
On my end, I've been struggling with single target damage. When I wipe a group of enemies there usually remains one high hp/regen yellow mob which takes ages to kill. My FP stopped doing good damage ages ago (I am lvl 31 atm) and the only thing I can do is spam 3 bear traps and hope for a crit... if all else fails I spam EK till I'm out of mana. I think I need to get my hands on a second bear trap gem asap. |

In what order should I try to get the auras? Right now I'm lv30 and have EK+Fork+Projectile speed and also bear trap+lightning and using clarity and for the most part mowing down groups and not to great of trouble with yellow mobs.
I am really liking the build so far. I started off undecided between this and the Spork build but ended up liking this far more. edit: glancing over it now I see that hatred works with EK which I had dropped when i was using Spork and never thought to put it back on! I decided to turn my planned cold Shadow into this build. Unfortunately I already took Frostbite indstead of Projectile Weakness for my quest reward in act 2. Anyone know if there is another quest to get Projectile Weakness? Or will I have to trade / level another Shadow?

Quick gear question! Is mana/life leech from attack damage useless? I mean the one you get from gloves, rings etc. I didint see it in your gear so I assume it wornt work with traps and EK.
