[1.2.x] Oos' Crit Dagger Capped Block Ranger (Reave / Flicker / Double Strike) Acrobatics or IR
" My experience has been completely different. Reflect maps started to hurt pretty bad if I got a big crit when I reached around 55k in party settings. Taking more than half your health constantly on reflect just isn't something you want to deal with in beyond if there's something else about to hit you. Especially, as you said, if a beyond mob pops up and you got doublereflect to deal with all of the sudden. For standard I can see it being a whole different matter, very much so with your atziri gloves. I'm curious, what did cause your deaths last month? I've avoided some encounters completely due to my char lacking some key stats for some fights (chaos for example) and I don't have the luxury to test these stuff out without risking everything. Well if you play hardcore you probably you have to look at the topic in a slightly different way. In that case going above ~75k (had that with Bino) is not really recommended.
The reason why I don't care about refeect is my 5.6k Hp pool. Therefore I cannot one-shot myself on reflect and if I crit into a pack my IC will be triggered after the 1st dmg instance, protecting me from the remaining refelect while leeching/potting back. Alternatively just use the bino regen: I had 2.2k life rgen/s with bino, so I basically needed 1 kill during my 3sec IC invulnerability to go back to full Hp. My deaths are mostly related to FPS issues. In partys it is not uncommon for me to drop below 10 fps and if I cannot attack/leech/pot I am basically defenseless and just get punched to death. I also often play when I am VERY sleepy with pretty awful reaction times (e.g to offscreen flameblast cast from exile). So is this build overall weaker or stronger than before? I am considering making this build.
|

I'm doing this build aswell, level 84 slow like a snail(i joined POE at the start of this league)Only 21k reave dps But 68% block using lighting coil Pretty "safe" and "tanky" build..
" Hey do you mind linking your gear? i was thinking about Rathpith and if it could be good for this build.I'm Currently using Crest of Perandus and so far it get the job done!but yeah i was wondering if there's better endgame option. |

Here is my gear and tree:
Spoiler
I have been lazy with gear updates but it gets the job done so.. I get just right amount of INT from gear so if you want to make gearing MUCH easier using rathpith, just take that +30 int node from tree. I might do that myself. You can get more dps using added fire instead of pcoc and just use the curse, but like I said, I like to keep power charges up vs single bosses too. Bandits are oak, kill, alira. Also you can take Ondars if you like, I simply dont feel like its needed with block+acro so I just put those 2 point to crit instead. Last edited by Kullevi#3077 on Oct 4, 2014, 7:29:06 AM

Update from last time:
build gear stats etc

gear
screenshots
Solo defenses With grace in party Solo Reave With frenzy from usual partymember. No idea how other auras like haste wrath etc increases my dps. - Decided to go for the rathpith route, feels much better overall since spelldmg was the major threat that still existed. Life is about the same, lost about 80. Only thing left that needs fixing is chaos but the proper items doesn't exist yet. Need better rolled items overall to fit in a chaosres roll or two. Chaos has not been a problem with 5.4khp however. At this point I just avoid the JV boss and Olmec's Chaos totem. Lost some block with rathpith, specced into some more. I can also craft block on gloves if needed, provided I can get correctly rolled ones, but I really don't think I need more phys avoidance at this point. - Tweaked some minor stat items, got exactly the amount int needed for rathpith after a divine on my neck (38->39!). Reaching statreqs along with the resists if you run rathpith+pol can be troublesome. - No longer completely elew proof, something that will be fixed with better rolled res items. First up is to be lightning proof, got the pieces to mix for that, just missing some other pieces to swap the resists around. Cant slack with the wardings anymore. - Ditched the doublestrike link completely, it got outperformed by a 6l reave in almost all situations. Tried to use CoS or a second CwDT but at this point my evade+dodge values made both useless. Ended up replacing it with a reave+coh+amark/enf+pcoc link to get better curses ontop of emergency pcharge generation/refreshes if needed. Also adds the benefit of not losing your reave stack when you want to curse! Highly suggest a link like this or similar instead of a pcoc in the mainlink link Kullevi - Experimenting with a nolink Vaal reave for quick stack generation and massive aoe when wanted. Fits well with clear big pack -> wb to next room/pack -> vreave>cohreave>normal reave or just skip the cohreave if the curse isn't needed. Quite high uptime on it too since it only requires 32souls in merciless which is roughly a big pack. Might turn out that I don't need it but keeping that 16stack reave rolling with your normal reave is awesome for some maps and bosses. You're basically ranged at that point. - Debating if I should drop some of my stray dps nodes for the life/eva cluster between ranger and shadow. Not sure yet but the option is there if I want more hp. - Worth to mention is that mana is very tight in my current build, it's easily solved by taking the minddrinker cluster that I'm currently skipping. I'm testing if I can run with 522maxmana but if it doesn't work out properly I can just go back to my 650ish mana that ran smoothly, would only be a slight dps difference. Edit: I got stalled very seldom but it got annoying enough in the long run so I went back to previous setup that ran smoothly everywhere. Higher manapool (faster leech) and 80unreserved left. Getting +mana on one piece of gear would save me 2passives at this point. - Also agree with Kullevi that Ondars guile isn't worth it at our gearlvl so dropped those for other stuff. Definitely get Ondars while lvling up/gearing up however. Last edited by Lysithea#1224 on Oct 9, 2014, 12:25:40 PM

With this build how do you manage to get those high attributes?
From passives it totals to +74 Strength +282 Dexterity +94 Intelligence With onyx it is still +90 Strength +298 Dexterity +110 Intelligence At your build at lvl 91 you have +150 Strength +301 Dexterity +140 Intelligence I just dont see how this works? |
|
Also how do the Atziri's Step boots compare to the boots with trip res?
Is the dodge worth it? Last edited by clandestinehp#1801 on Oct 13, 2014, 1:20:25 AM
