[1.0.x - NEM/HC] The Dreidel - The Spinning Budget Duelist

1.) I think facebreakers are too specific on gear (i.e. you MUST have phys damage on a lot of your gear) whereas I believe that it's easier (especially for self-found chars) to just pick up random gear.

2.) IR should be highlighted, I keep trying to update the link but it doesn't work for some reason?

Is UW necessary at all? Since you can't get stunned during Cyclone. I was thinking maybe skipping the UW region entirely and enter the Templar Tree/RT area via Scion Tree, possibly grabbing Marauder Tree in the process.

How comparable is the damage of this build to that of a Facebreaker is what I'm primarily wondering. I want to build a Cycloner on Nemesis, but I already own a Facebreaker cyclone on standard and I don't want my new character to be just a weaker version of my old one.

This build will still work if you decide to go facebreakers. Just skip the 2h nodes and maybe go for some shield block nodes instead. The good thing with the tree I've configured is that it's next to everything. Want axe nodes? fell of the weak is right there. Want sword nodes? There's tons nearby. I didn't even decide to go for more endurance charges till 72ish, and I was like whoah they're right there.

One of the reasons I decided to skip facbreakers was because it forces you to keep your equipment static. I mean you're going facebreakers & rain, while nullifies 2 equipment slots. The only spots youll be able to find upgrades for are belt, rings, amulet boots.

As for UW, I like it. There's times where I will use double strike against a single target to get it down faster (as I don't have a 5-6l for my cyc) and in nemesis, so not being stunned = nice. Also when you're running around a map, and monsters such rhoas/chargers are desynced and hitting you, I don't want to take any chances.

I've thought about going to the marauder tree through the scion life nodes, BUT you're far from the 2% life leech (which is nice with untwinked gear, and from resolute technique (which can be dropped later if you find a nice sword with high %ar)

Sorry if this is all jumbled! In a bit of a rush!

optimized your build saving points and such, this is focused for axes change nodes according to weapon used.
Been using this build and it's really effective. However I do wonder why you take nodes that have evasion but then take unwavering stance? Seems like a waste of nodes

Iron Reflexes
i am most likely gonna use this build to farm for items, as it is cheap and can run well! Good stuff man :)

i have a few questions / requests however.

What best weapon / offhand set up would be the best for this build, because there are ones that use dual wield, 1 hand / shield, etc... ?

Also, if i use facebreakers would that make this build better or worse due to the loss of a few sockets for a higher dmg?

Also what stats should i look for the most in this build when getting gear? and is a full MF build possible?

And if possible, could you upload a few videos in the future :D?

Thanks,

I did the same thing you did (going straight through that int node) but I remember I had a reason for it last time I switched the build around. As for the axe nodes (any weapon nodes for that matter) I believe they're only worth picking up around 80 as up until then you probably will keep switching between weapons you find. As for elemental adaptation, I still need to check out the math behind that.

Basically any evasion you get from evasion nodes will be converted to armor because of iron reflexes.

1.) Best weapon is any weapon you can get. Good 1hs are expensive/extremely hard to find, so use a 2h until you find something stronger

2.) As for facebreakers, I've never tried a build with them. Found 3-4 pairs but I think your gear has to be way too specialized to use them (i.e. iron rings, bringer of rain is a MUST)

3.) Stats? If you're playing hardcore/nem, go for life/resistances, any other league you could probably sacrifice a bit of life/res to have MF on your gear, but tbh, it's not really worth it.

As for a video, POE drops frames like mad already with this computer, but I might just make a short intro video with some gameplay and explanation of gear/skill tree.
Ok guys, version 1.1 of the build coming tomorrow!!

I finally got a 5 link on my axe (upgrades to it were 2+ ex) and my damage jumped up by 500 on the tooltip for lvl 1 concentrated area of effect. There is 2 things that need to be "fixed" as soon as you get a 5 link and/or start using concentrated area of effect

First one is - 240 health to cast. I already found the solution to this, will post tomorrow.
Second one is - Concentrated area desyncs like crazy... but I might have a solution... Will try it tomorrow and then post!!

QFT. I'm doing way more damage to myself than the monsters are. >_<
