I didn't think 9k ES was possible, I'm sitting at 2280 ES with this build at level 66.
Hopefully I'll be running more maps tonight, but I'm really tempted to try out the Molten Shield build as I'm sort of getting frustrated with my dps.
I currently do 172 dps with a shield on. I honestly don't feel comfortable without a shield, especially since there's certain mobs that can still 2 shot me.
I think if the totems had more HP it wouldn't be as bad.
Hopefully I can get Hypershatter to join me for more maps if he's on, I'd also like to discuss some variations of the build with him. I will be streaming from 9pm-2am EST ish (as always)
So idealistically, which is better? The witch luxury build or the templar luxury build? What do you gain / lose with each?
Or am I totally wrong and the new added Lightning proj trumps both of those?
TEMPLAR VS WITCH BUILD?
Templar and Witch are the same thing really the differences are too small its just starting area.
Also for those that feel its annoying to put down a totem here and there to move forward just get Ice Wall. This skill is simply amazing and I much prefer it over minions. Just make sure your use to ur keys and are quick with it.
Yes, but I'm a min/maxer so I care about the small differences, I wanted to know which one is slightly better.

no way to know what one is better atm until you see people level 100 with full gear really

I got to 7k es in closed beta with just one godly chest for es. Definitely possible to get even 12k es with decked out gear.
Es is like a form HP that stacks like crazy but you cannot pot.
Once u reach a certain lvl of es, with a granite flask and good resist or purity, u cannot die. Unless u go full retard or lag out for a min.

I noticed that ES scales extremely well, 7k would be fantastic, but it still wouldn't solve the issues that I'm having. (Totems dying / lack of dps)
What about an "EE" build that focuses on both cold and lightning?
I'm not sure if this has been brought up... huge thread.

*New* Testing Section (righteous fire and frenzy)

To understand the mechanics of these skills better, first understand that your totems' stats are a snap shot of your stats at the time when you cast them.
Righteous Fire
This burns you for 100% of your maximum life as fire damage per second (reduced by your fire resist), in return gives you "MORE SPELL DMG %". Once you start using it, you cannot cancel it until either your life is at 1, or you use a flask to dispel burning. Usually this skill cannot be maintained long due to the drain, and not good for casters because if you cancel, the spell dmg bonus is gone. This does not work with CI, therefore only for life/hybrid builds.
HOWEVER, this does not apply to totems as explained earlier, which means you can immediately use righteous fire, plant totems, dispel burning, and your totems keep your +30-70% more spell dmg, depends how much you lvled the gem.
Keep in mind guys, more spell dmg != increased spell dmg. Nodes in your passive tree and equip gives increased spell dmg that is addictive. On the other hand, more spell dmg multiplies your entire pool by (1+bonus%). For example, if you have total of 200% spell dmg:
Frenzy: use this as main wand attack, no damage but grants one frenzy charge (5% cast speed) up to 3 stacks.
Basically Frenzy grants you frenzy charges, these apply to totem only when you have it before the totems are planted. If you gain charges when you already have totems, it will not apply to the totems already out but new ones. The new ones will retain the cast speed increase from charges until the totems themselves expire, which is much longer than when your frenzy charges expire.
What do you guys think? Is it too tedious to cast frenzy with traps, spell totems, and curses all at once just for the 15% cast speed boost? Worth it? Try it out and let me know.
The totem node that lets you have 2 totems claims that you will do no damage with other spells. Wouldn't this mitigate the damage done by righteous fire to yourself?
