BTW, I noticed that for the leveling progression builds, you take the cast speed nodes near the start but for the final build on your first post, you dont have them anymore, but you do take them near the shadow tree? Is there a point to respec like this? Why waste the respec points and just skip the ones in the beginning all together?

please wait for full update.

looking forward to a full update ;-)

currently i am lvl34 and just got all "basic skills" for this build-

there was another skilltree-build in this thread with some body&soul templar skills and so on, but i cant find it now.

can you maybe say what next skills are also "core-skills" and needed?

f.e. like Heart of Ice, then the other tree with "Mental Acuity"-> "Freeze"->"Spell Power"->"Assassination" ?

my items:

hi,

@fergardi the first post said to use freezing pulse, which is a pretty useful aoe ability until you get spelltotem and can be advanced with lmp (i never really used icespear for myself unless for bosses/single ranged enemies)
firetraps also deliver the extra damage needed for cold resist enemies early on, and later aswell :)

@experienced players
i was wondering about the crit nodes in the shadow tree, except "spell power" they say nothing about being applied to spells, so could anyone give a little explanation to those nodes?

Crit rate in nodes that aren't specified to a weapontype or spell is global crit, meaning it adds crit chance to everything, including spells :)
since you take a couple Armor+ES nodes near double totem,is it better to get hybrid gear ? ES without anything else feels weak too, getting hit for 200-300 by white mobs in cruel is kinda annoying lol.
saw that you modifyed the initial build (now is without cast speed in the begining). hope i will have enough refund points :D

great build, i'm having lots of fun with it after level 50.

my only problem is that i dint manage yet to buy a gmp :).

Very smart build, props to you Hyper.

I made a variant build here, one for those of us that plan to play HC or just aren't as comfortable relying on the energy shield / CI side of Hyper's build. Basically it takes the focus off shield (not abandoning it) and puts it back towards life somewhat. No CI. Same amount of points (92) used.

With this build you gain:
+10 strength
+10% all resist
+31% elemental damage
+3% faster cast
+8% max mana
+20% mana regen
+42% life
+44% armour
+30 life
+7% less mana used
+1% life regen

You lose:
-20% crit multiplier
-55% max energy shield
-25% energy shield recovery
-30% cold damage
-36% evasion rating
-25% less chance to interrupt casting
-4% movement speed

As far as the losses, most of them are no more than a point or two away. You can get the movement speed and evasion rating back with 5 more points. Interrupt casting protect is right off the trail, gettable with 1 point. 32% chaos resist is 3 points away.

Level 42 here in Act 2 Cruel and this build is unreal. Trust me when I say there is no reason to doubt this build. Once you have Frostbite along with your Ice Spear Totem and Lesser Multiples then everything is a joke. I have Fire Trap and Bear Trap but seldom do I even need to use them, the totems are just so OP. Thanks for this build, I'm loving the game because of it.

No (in regards to how fast you clear - you are safer though), but in any group you're better than an EK build by a lot.

How so? Due to providing a ton of freeze I'm assuming. Still though, the damage output is pretty good overall, with three curses and two totems.

Safer? Don't really know. I've seen EKs just clear mobs in one throw which means no damage taken cause instant kill (except for physical reflect but granite solves that).

I would still love to see this work in high level maps though.
