[1.0.2] Tri Element Trapper
I mitigated some of my mana issues by running low(ish) lvl clarity and taking the 6%life/8%mana nodes above EE instead of the Thick Skin cluster. Maybe not optimal but when taking Mind over Matter 1/3 of the mana gained translates to HP anyway. You'll pick up the Thick skin cluster eventually.
And try rolling a magic wand with over 50% spell damage, that also helps save up mana. Here's what I was using and now I switched temporarily to Last edited by Redadder#4898 on Dec 2, 2013, 4:19:09 AM

Been thinking of swapping out my CWDT combo and run Artic Armor instead and self cast Temp Chains.

" thanks for answering :) btw noob question, does increased crit. chance (weapon, equip, passive nodes) actually increase crit chance of spells? I am a lil bit confuse because there are 2 kind of crit chance, one is "critical strike chance" and the other "critical strike chance for spells". Running clarity is not enough, so I am gonna look for equips with mana regen to help. regards |

" There's a few different types of "crit chance" in this game. On weapons, there is just a plain "Crit Chance" that increases the base crit of the actual weapon. This stat does nothing when it comes to spells. The other two types, "Crit with Spells" and "Global Crit" both work on spells. The implicit value of daggers is "Global", as well as the implicit value on Diamond Rings, both are very handy for this build. IGN: Arkon_Melee_LoL

oh, i see.
Now I understand. It was confusing to me. I will now look for global crit chance and spell damage then best regards |

Since crit chance is being mentioned atm, I wanted to ask whether there was some sort of rule of thumb or advice when it comes to crit chance vs spell damage on daggers/wands - the "Kris" daggers have +80% global crit, whereas other daggers may have only 40. so assuming that I have one with higher +crit chance and another with higher +spell damage, where is the point one should decide to replace either weapon? like, is 20% more spell damage "generally" better than, let's say, 40% crit chance because of the reliance?
I ask because I have a hard time deciding what kind of dagger to opt for, when some double the +crit chance of others but lack in +spell damage, maybe I can get some opinions/infortmation here :) Also is there a way to check the chance of a spell (trap in this case) to crit? on my character info I only see the main hand crit chance don't I? |

" You can see the crit of your traps if you select the trap in question under the character screen. As for crit vs spell damage, I'd say as long as it's not some stupid amount of difference (70% spell damage vs 20% crit fx), go for crit. Shock stacks are nice and so are ignites. ^^ Last edited by tuderen#0607 on Dec 2, 2013, 10:30:08 AM

" Crit is better 99% of the time except in extreme cases like the above poster mentioned, something like 70% spell damage vs only 20% crit. Out of the 3 elemental traps we throw, 2 of them are supported by Multi Traps, and honestly, the most important 2. While Ice Nova does a great job of chilling, freezing, and flipping EE...Shock and Fire Traps are our main source of damage. Because they are supported by Multi Traps, there's a -40% LESS damage penalty to those 2 traps. Meaning if you get +100 Spell Damage, it's as if those two traps only receive 60%. On the other hand, there is no penalty to crit...and because we're trying to crit our Shock and Fire traps as often as possible, more crit is always better. IGN: Arkon_Melee_LoL

Out of curiosity, how many Chroms did you use to get 3 off colors on your Deerstalker (pure Evasion) boots?
I have burned a ton and never gotten more than 2 off colors. And I know darn well when I hit the lottery and get 3 off colors, it will be 3 red, 3 blue, or 2 red/1 blue... i.e. not 2 blue/1 red. Hmm... If I don't hit the lottery I suppose I could accept 2G/2B and use the boots for Coldsnap/Frost Nova + Multi + Prolif + Cold Pen. And if I do and get 1G/3B, use Shock Nova + Multi + Prolif + Lightning Pen. |

Thanks for the fast answers guys! That will really help me with the decision making :) " even if the question was not addressed to me, when I got my pair of boots I thought the same thing, but eventually got: with around 60 chroms :3 ...getting RRG for the cast when damage taken links on my pure ES shield was a different story xD edit: typo Last edited by Anderherz#4477 on Dec 2, 2013, 11:13:18 AM
