[1.0.2] Tri Element Trapper

Hey guys I have no problem taking out packs of mobs at all, the only thing that takes any kind of time is bosses, or should I say, unique mobs. My question is, I have not struggled living, except with a bit of lag killing me, with any progression other than the final boss, Dominus I believe is his name(forgive me I'm new), on both normal and cruel. Currently I am level 58 and in Act 1 merciless and tearing through as usual, but was wondering what I am doing wrong to no be able to kill that final boss w/o cheating? i.e. using a portal to run and hide and heal... haha. none of his minions trouble me, just him in his second phase. Thanks ahead of time, love the guide, loving the build! I currently have. . . 2720 life and 801 mana and resists are at 75 75 75 and -60 chaos. Thanks, IGN BowlforadogWSP.
So, I've been trying to keep lightning trap in the build, but it feels very lackluster around cruel~merciless. I wanted to make it a shock stacking machine, but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing that. I've considered moving to static blows, but if I do that I lose out on some trapper nodes and crit nodes from the shadow tree. I'm thinking of linking lightning trap with elemental prolif, lightning pen, and either increased crit strikes or added lightning damage (not sure which is better for shock stacking). What do you guys think?

Im going to go for Oak-> skill point-> Oak or skill point

Lightning Trap isn't a shock stacking machine, it's actually pretty useless as I found out while making this guide at doing that.

First, it's only a 4% crit spell, really low. Second, Shock Nova has the built in 30% shock chance on it's quality. Shock Nova also does quite a bit more damage than Lightning Trap. There really is no comparison between the two at all.

It's pretty sad that a trap build disregards a skill like Lightning Trap in favor of a regular spell like Shock Nova, but it is what it is. No way around it currently.

how much dps u have on your traps?
[EDIT: only one question remains:D] . Also do you opt for "Path of the Warrior" for bear trap only?

As a Shadow, and needing 109 STR because of things like Reduced Mana and Fire Pen, you come up a little short in naturally having 109 STR without that node. I'd much rather spend one passive for some HP and hit the amount of STR I need than having to worry about making up STR on gear.

question about Master Sapper and Lightning Traps

Master Sapper gives 24% increased trap damage

Lightning Traps have 8 projectiles

so is the 24% divided among the 8 projectiles ?
with the result being the passive actually gives 3% increased damage to each projectile ?

and if that's the case, wouldn't it be better to get a 6% or 8% increased projectile damage passive ?
because wouldn't that give the 6%-8% to EACH lightning projectile ?


of course Increased Projectiles passives would be useless for Bear Traps and Fire Traps, but just focusing on Lightning Traps for the moment - wouldn't Increased Projectile damage be better ?
