I'm level 64 currently (with EB and MOM) and using grace/clarity but was wondering if it is worth it to turn on Grace. Without grace I have 2948 armor and with I have 6981. But it takes up 532 mana. What is the formula to calculate dmg reduced from armor? Do you use the estimated physical dmg reduction (mine is at 38% and then 59% w/ grace)? Note: My life is at 2909 w/ 75 all res and I have a total of 989 mana without grace. I'm pretty sure I'm not doing the math right. My guess was to take my current life and add unreserved mana then divide by the estimated phys dmg reduction to get effective life and then compare with grace on and off. When I do that I get a lot more effective life without grace. But like I said my math isn't right I don't think. I'm aware that armor works better against smaller hits and doesn't do hardly anything for larger hits does that mean it would be a good idea to turn grace off for big hitting bosses? edit:after doing some manual testing I don't like turning off grace while farming >< Edit2: I got my deerskin boots set up in 4 jewelers 1 fuse and 9 chromes.. praise be to RNGesus. " I did think about it for a little bit, but losing HP and Crit would be pretty tough to swallow. It's a big flat damage boost, and has hefty resists for sure. I think it would end up being a "farming" ring, where you put it on when you can already destroy the map you're doing, but put on a "regular" ring when you're doing higher level maps where defense matters more. Prolly tossing The Taming and Andvarius would be good for doing low level maps, but when I have the 872 exalted I'd need to buy the two (I'm exaggerating)...I'll give it a try lol. " Grace is always worth having on. As for big hitting bosses, the more armor you have, still is better. Their big hits don't take away a flat amount of armor, but a percentage. So if you have 3k armor, and something like Kole hits you where it takes away 80%, you'd be left with 600 armor. Now if you had 7k armor, you'd be left with 1400. IGN: Arkon_Melee_LoL

Is the lvl 1 reduced duration gems because they also reduce the duration off shock affected by the supported skills?

" To be honest, I don't know the answer to that, which is why I kept them at level 1. Whether Reduced Duration is 1 or 20, it makes the traps instant either way...so I figured why put it to chance if it does reduce the duration of status ailments. On a side note, I don't think they do. With things like Shock Nova (quality) and Cold Snap (when I used to use it), which have built in increased durations, my character sheet still shows the full bonus to the extra duration so I tend to believe Reduced Duration doesn't affect status ailments. Oh, another thing. WOuld you prioritize Fire Penetration or Increased Burning Damage if you only have a 5L?

So I was thinking about the build again... Wouldn't it be amazing late game if you dropped bear trap, grabbed a searing touch and put all your fire trap gems in it and then put your shock nova gems in your carcass jack... You could potentially Curse-1-2-3 almost anything in the game with An ele weakness, ShockNova x3 shock, Fire Trap, Ice Nova. There would be almost no need for bear trap anymore unless you wanted to keep your culling + rarity going. With lvl 20 Q20% Ele Weakness, lvl 20 Fire pen, Ele Equalibrium, High Explosives, and 3x shock... thats -154 Resist to fire on top of +90% damage. HOLY CRAP.
