I personally agree 110% that servers should be separated from western to eastern servers and players. Every single game that I have come across that supports wide ranged numbers of Eastern countries such as China Korea Japan and others tend to have a very bad problem with Pay To Win set ups.

This game was set on the bases that only cosmetics would be purchasable, on the other hand it is impossible to stop people from profiting off of this game as there are several sites already where you can buy currency items for RL Money.

I believe that these two issues ruin games. Keep western servers completely blocked from asian countries and keep an eye out on sites that steal from your company.

I have no ill feelings for any groups of people or allowing them to enjoy this game, I do have a problem with track records and that alone stands out like a sore thumb...

As for this alliance type deal with the new company, I would take a look at the overall outcry from your supporters and figure out if this truly is the best move for you all or maybe your players are right and this might hurt in the long run. No risk no reward but at the same time playing Russian roulette you may just be that one that takes the bullet...

Honestly i can say, just keep path of exile international. Played games that used the garena platform and it was just bad. Although some websites give good reviews about Garena , those are not from a gamer's point of view. If you asked gamers who actually played the Garena platform, they'd say they rather stick path of exile to being international.

I wouldn't be surprised if Garena would create some path of exile exclusive microtransaction items in future somehow, because they don't really bother about a gamer's experience for the game. They just do it to get things from us gamers.

For example, a totally unrelated game like Heroes of Newerth, the international server actually lets you play any character you want, whereas for the Garena server, you actually have to either farm a very long time for only one character or buy them with real money.

If GGG actually created a thread before deciding, asking us SEA players the idea of having Garena as a platform for Path of Exile and our thoughts about it. I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of all the posts would reject that idea of having Garena as the platform.

So I'm actually reading through most of the replies here, and it seems GGG sold their baby out to the sleaziest pimp at the first whiff of real money, without any real research other than the pimp had a pretty sweet mink fur coat

C'mon, what could possibly go wrong allowing your game to be published through a company that offers a purchasable "Unban Card".

At least it shows where their priorities lie (Not GGG's).

May all the RMT farmers go to garena's poe version and leave us alone.

As an expat living in Taiwan the only concern is that I don't want to get blocked from the servers I currently play on. I already thought it was strange that PoE was region restricted on Steam but since I wasn't blocked from the regular client I felt no real harm done. I guess the reason it is not on steam in all regions is this Garena deal.
Just hoping that there won't be additional region restrictions coming in the future.
