I made some changes to the original tech tree setup. I disregarded the 4 Evasion/Life nodes at the start of the ranger tree because they are not that efficient. I just a Stun Recovery node (which sucks) in order to connect down to Heart of Oak, so that frees up 3 passives. Then I specced out of Charisma and the reserve mana nodes. They add a decent amount of DPS because of Hatred, but I think the main reason Donald has them is to give him a little more mana to work with so he doesn't have to use blood magic and just use mana leech. I think that's a fair option, and I might try it later on.
The other change I did was go to Depth Perception, which gave me a ton of accuracy. When I have enough accuracy in gear, I'll specc out of this and put it in some Crit Multiplier nodes.
If you went the Vaal Pact route, you would also take the additional health nodes and be able to take Diamond Flesh and you're close to Cloth and Chain and Riddle of Steel.

Really nice build. But I only have 4l items (play selffound so no trading or enough orbs for crafting) and I guess Cast on Crit is useless with only 4l items as main skill. ^^"

Since lightning thorns is a flat amount of damage reflected and triggers once per instance of damage, VP counters it entirely, granted that you deal enough damage and leech enough life per hit. All versions of monsters above level 70 that can cast lightning thorns, cast it at the same level, always dealing pure lightning damage in the same flat range.

Point Blank only works on projectile attacks (such as Split Arrow, Spectral Throw, etc). Ethereal Knives is a projectile spell.

Can someone help me?
Something weird is happening with my 6L chest piece.
I have 4L helmet which I used for ST-CoCS-LMP-EK and everything worked great, but then I transfered my gems to 6L chest piece to have ST-CoCS-LMP-Increased Critical Strikes-EK-EK and it just bugs out. My ST shoots single projectile and ignores CoCS, LMP, ICS, Ek, EK.
Why is that? Does anyone knows?
The weird part is, I put on only ST, LMP and it works great, but when I add CoCS, it bugs out and doesnt work.
Any ideas? :(

I must be missing something, how can you actually cast anything with all of your spells being tied to either cast when damage taken or cast when you crit? I don't see where the initial hits come from.
