" thats with hatred in mind, just check ur char screen with auras on and do the math you'll see, added fire and faster attacks both add roughly 25% more dmg. added fire can ignite though, but faster attacks has that great consistency (lots of smaller hits and less shoot to one side but not the other kinda stuff). Between the two i slightly prefer faster attacks. fireball and quality increased crit dmg is closer to 50% more dmg (and thats not counting the ignite from fireball; it has a better base spell crit chance than EK and with quality you get an extra 30% chance to ignite). Downside is fireball doesnt have quite as much range as EK, but it is awesome vs single target (always hits) or small groups. It's pretty plain to see that the dmg is better than added fire/faster attacks. As a side note, carcass jack can make it significantly more potent with it's increased AOE + area dmg. As for increased crit damage well its kind of inconsistent and leads to wasted damage: non crit EKs dont get any bonus and the crit EKs hit like a truck. It's still pretty good because since it's pure EK it has more range overall than EK+fireball and the crit EKs have a better chance to freeze high hp monsters since they hit so hard. When i say more range that's with a grain of salt though because it doesnt do a perfect AOE circle around you like fireball does, you'll have more of that shoot to one side but not the other stuff, like with added fire. P.S. Don't listen to BACKREAP, 4K chromes for added fire... i lol'd. Dude's a tool who a few pages back proposed a build that sacrificed a lot of things to go all the way to templar to get 12% more AOE, while ignoring the +2 melee range node that gives 7/5 = 40% more AOE. " I tried it today, was quite disappointed with single target dps though, took twice as long to kill Piety on solo. Gonna level Fireball(13) to 17-18 and try again to see if I will miss the attack speed. One thing I do agree with you is that Fireball > Added Fire Damage. Increased Crit damage would be really sexy esp with 20q. But I would reckon you need like at least 50% base crit chance on EK to really make it work. P.S. I run 6linked BotBeast. EDIT: Btw, between added fire & FA, wouldn't FA win out in dps with the all the insane ele resist that end-game mobs wouldn't leave home without? Dude levels is very important for fireball (just like EK), of course it's gonna suck at lvl 13.
And yeah i do have +91% spell crit chance from one of my daggers, that makes increased crit dmg more potent. I know of another guy who uses voll's and he loves increased crit damage. Last edited by drake1666#4980 on Jan 20, 2014, 11:10:23 AM

So is the EK stacking version of this build dead? I keep seeing people say patch 1.0.5 did something to stop the EK, but it doesn't say anything in the patch notes about multiple gems not triggering. If this is the case, what triggered skills would be suggested with the tanky spectral throw variant? Or is it time to scrub the build and start over? Thanks in advance for any info.
