DonaldF's EK DANMAKU Ranger Extremely High DPS /Jan.14 little update [Videos]

Hello everyone. I've got some questions regarding this build. I'm sure some of it has been asked before, but 140 pages is a lot to go through, so bare (bear?) with me.

1. I was told ingame when I asked a person using a Cyclone, EK, CoC build that it's better suited for a Shadow, yet I can't really find any builds in the Shadow section.
2. Which stats am I looking for on the different pieces of equipment outside of the generic, HP, Res and Increased Eva/Arm/ES? Also, which mods are most important? Especially regarding the weapon. What are the minimum values if I want to be able to do high maps?
3. I think I'll be using the Blood Magic gem for this. Does that mean I need Vaal Pact? I'm very confused with everyone's skill tree seemingly being so different. Some info on which passives to get with which variation, or just some info on making a good tree would be nice.
4. I was thinking of going Added Fire Damage as the 6th Link. Has a conclusion been reached on which new gem is better than others, or is everyone just using what they want to try out?
5. Which type of defense equipment is best for this build - talking about Armor, Evasion, Energy Shield, or a hybrid between 2 of them?
6. So the chest has the Cyclone, EK etc. on it, 1 piece has the auras and then everything else is just CwDT?
(Edit)7: Does Mana/Life Leech from Daggers do anything for this build?

There are probably other questions I'll have later, but this is all I got right now. Sorry for the trouble and thanks for any help regarding this.

Hello, can you share your summoner spec (passive points), it seem very OP. Thanks

1. This build can work as Ranger, Shadow, Duelist, or even Scion. Just slight variation in the first few passive nodes you have to travel. If you look at the original passive tree by the creator, the passives passes through the starting areas of the classes mentioned above so if you start as any of those classes you're fine.

2. Other than the generic ones, look for crit chance on rings and crit multiplier on amulets. Weapon you should look for a dagger with at least 8.5% crit chance and over 30% spell damage, and the faster the weapon the better but thats not a priority.

3. You don't need Vaal Pact to use blood magic gem. You just need a life leech gem linked with it.

4. Personal choice. I use fireball.

5. Armor and Evasion is equal for this build. Energy Shield is mostly useless unless you taking the Eldricth Battery passive which turns it into mana. Since you're using Blood magic gem you pretty much don't need mana.

6. Pretty much. Don't forget Whirling Blades.

7. Very little. Those are physical leech which you do very little, most of your dmg come from spells. Only life leech gem works with spells.

my CoC shadow lvl 79

possible options. going for 2 spelldmg starting nodes in the shadow starting area/ get more lifenodes. more critmulti
with 3 powercharges at 95% crit. but only at 3k life atm.
gear and gemsetup

undecideed about added fire / fireball / arc / faster attacks
Just started trying this build at lvl 72 and have some questions:

1) What pots are best to use with this build? I've been using 3 seething health, 1 quicksilver and 1 granite. In the videos i've seen, nobody uses granite. Is there a reason for this? It seems really effective so far. In those same videos i've seen people using a mana pot, why is this? With Grace/Hatred/Purity i have 35 mana left and it doesn't seem to be a problem and never gets used (i have everything on blood magic gems, like the people in the video). Enduring cry/Immortal call still proc with no issues.

2) Do people actually use whirling blades to get power charges? Again, in most of the videos i've seen nobody bothers to use it.

Thanks.

Dude levels is very important for fireball (just like EK), of course it's gonna suck at lvl 13.

And yeah i do have +91% spell crit chance from one of my daggers, that makes increased crit dmg more potent. I know of another guy who uses voll's and he loves increased crit damage.

At what level for FB would you recommend a switch so I don't have to keep going through chromes :)

hey depends on personal preferences.
using those flasks atm

without granite i have 6.5k armour. with granit i'msitting at 12k. just tested with a jadeflask. which willl put me to 18k armour.

jade+granite i am at 23k armour.

but i d like to run extra light res flasks! with purity of lighting and flask i am at 88% light res!

no u dont need a manaflask obviously. cwdt setups dont spend mana on cast!

2.)blade+charge on crit is useless imho. whrilblades should be only used for movement, so u would just generate one charge max. before u start to cyclone.
u either want another chargegenerator (cwdt-GMP-Icepear-pwrchrgoncrit) works decent for me or u could use volls (good luck chroming it)
I use these for flasks, mana is there if i decide to switch to a spectra throw/coc/ek style for more safety. Jade flask gives me a gross ammount of armor.

personally i use this:

The chaos one should have something else than bleeding really, i should bother rerolling it. It gets changed for lightning (dispels shocked), fire (dispels burning) or cold (rarely) depending on monsters/bosses. Fire/lightning are always in my inventory. I spam the granite quite a lot.

If you dont use VP, imo just dump the diamond and use only one quicksilver (with movement speed). One life pot with armor (the main one) and another one with some dispel, probably dispels frozen. Removes bleeding isnt all that necessary without vaal pact but with it... it certainly is lol.
