Hey, I just wanted some feedback. I've been reading the thread and I haven't really found a viable solution to phys reflect. I still one-shot myself almost every time against phys reflect mobs, even with the CWDT-Immortal Call-Increased Duration-Enduring Cry combo. I do not use vaal pact since life leech is applied before reflect, making it useless (?). I run 3600 life and don't see it going much higher since I'm level 82 and I have 60+ life on every piece of gear with max life on belt, armor, and boots.
Does anyone have any other solutions or do I just absolutely have to play cautiously around reflect mobs and scope them before I dive in (thats so damn annoying lol) With my auras, I also run 70% damage reduction from armor. Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Jan 10, 2014, 7:09:54 PM

" You could try arctic armour. Using lv20 arctic armour myself and I have no problems with phys reflect. |

Has anyone even bothered to report to GGG that CoC is bugged for multiple of the same spells linked together? The patch only put a 10ms cooldown on the CoC crit, not a 10ms cooldown between each spell linked in the CoC.
currently: -> CoC triggers -> (Fireball, storm call, EK, Firestorm) -> all triggers together, no problem. -> CoC triggers -> (EK, EK, EK, EK) -> the first EK that comes after the CoC socket is the one that triggers and all following EK's are ignored (test is by using the ethereal star skin on differently placed EK's in the link) ..... not a bug? Unlikely. GGG nerfed CoC with a 10ms cooldown because it was causing technical issues in the backend. 10ms is nothing, its not even noticeable. The time between each hits of the fastest cyclone in the game is greater than 10ms. The performance decrease you noticed is not from the fact that it has a 10ms cooldown, its because you dont have 3 ek's going off anymore, all which have a chance to crit too, and when they crit, it retriggers the CoC within the link. You can test this thoroughly by running a docks with spectral throw, coc, fireball, ek , and then switch to fireball and ice spear. Your fireballs will go off like crazy because ice spear crits everything behind the first mobs getting hit. Anyway, CoC is not behaving like it is meant to, unless they nerfed it silently. So, maybe you should hold on to your correctly colored chests and all report this bug at the same time so they do something about it. Its not like they're reading this thread. |

I think 1EK+other spell is more useful than add fire dmg

Hey guys, new Cast on critter player. I've read alot into peoples fixes an bandaids to the build. It will no longer be back to it's original state. What I can say is I've been following / talking with a german player. Someone I came across on youtube playing this build actually. Oddly enough browsing for some new fun to the game. (I've built it all people, not leveled them to end game usually all about 30+ to use entire gem setups, but I've pretty much played just about anything EXCEPT for blender, I can't see my self spending that many ex just to make a build viable end game. BoR / Soul taker being almost mandatory for end game.) ANYWAYS BACK ON TRACK.

Point Blank is actually...pretty awesome now. Doom cast...? WELP. Cast on Damage taken + Life Leech + Increased AOE + Discharge (Doom cast~) Blood Magic + CoC + Ek + LL + Cyclone + Faster Projectiles (Not sure on this one still testing, Faster proj with point blank should cancel the end of the damage lower to be just normal.) If you read the Cast on Crit gem, it says "Supported Attacks". Ethereal Knives is not an "attack". EK is a Spell and Projectile. As a direct result, EK is incapable of causing Cast on Crit to activate. This applies to all other spells. Quote: Your fireballs will go off like crazy because ice spear crits everything behind the first mobs getting hit. The fireballs keep going because your Spectral Throw projectiles may not have completely returned to you. As long as there are ST projectiles still hitting mobs, if that particular ST attack rolled a crit, it will keep triggering Cast on Crit spells whenever the ST projectile hits a mob. The intended effect of the patch was to put a 10ms cooldown on each spell triggered by Cast on Crit. What this means is that if you hit 5 mobs within a 10ms time span (very possible with AoE based skills that hit all at once), only one cast of Ethereal Knives will trigger at most. How Cyclone procs Ethereal Knives seems to depend on this AoE aspect (one Cyclone spin will hit more than one mob, and each mob hit has a possibility of triggering Ethereal Knives with Cast on Crit). The change basically seems to tie Cast on Crit to the amount of hits you can make. In return, you are more likely to cast the spells linked in the gem. Overall, I run: PCoC - Cyclone - CoC - EK - Life Leech - Added Fire I could hypothetically run something like Fireball, Arc or the like, but I prefer this set up because it's neat and tidy, and all the damage scales explicitly from Ethereal Knives. You can run Arc, or Fireball, or any other mixture of spells. They will proc just as frequently as Ethereal Knives can. They can also crit as Ethereal Knives can. It ultimately comes down to preference (Without explicit build data and item data, it's not easy to say which gem is explicitly better, unlike previously when it was unanimous that the strength of EK makes it more viable than other spells). In a 5Link, one can take out PCoC. IF you are running something else on the side that generates PCoC, you can replace it with Increased Critical Damage or another spell. Increased Critical Damage increases the multiplier of the damage EK does when it does crit, and with power charges and the global nodes, should maybe hover around 30-50% for most people.
