You didn't answer my question. How can we run 3 auras without Blood Magic? How much mana regen does it require?
u cant run 3 auras without using Blood Magic. unless u want to substitute out the +life to +mana in your gears. but even with if u do that, I don't know if youll get enough mana to run all 3 auras and use cyclone.
Depends on which 3 aura's you want to run. I assume grace/hatred/and another 40% aura (purity for example). I can run these 3 fine and still have 201 mana leftover.
Although I can run those 3. I'm using grace/purity/clarity right now myself. Will drop purity soon (almost capped without it) and use another aura (maybe hatred..but I already do more than enough dmg without it). For the ppl wondering why I use clarity, it's because I'm using lv18 arctic armor (still lvling it but I will max it)
To answer nASTYgator's question. With lv20 reduced mana and 20% reduced mana from passives, you should be able to run 2x60% aura and 1x40% aura.

Hello, I'm currently lvl81 with this build and enjoying it a lot. I am using the BM version, but since I had the pleasure to map a little with DonaldF himself, I will maybe switch to the AA version if I get the proper gear.
Anyway, here is my eq :
91.7% crit chance with main hand, 89.7% with off hand (not counting the curse or power charges, crit chance is maxed with them). 92% chance to hit, more when I grab some accuracy nodes. 4050 life 6K armor, overcapped resists (145%/106%/117% in Merciless with purity on)
D2 4ever ;)
Since 2011

Yes I know how you can run 3 auras but that was not my question. What I asked is how can you use cyclone properly with only 100-150 mana left after 3 auras? Don't you go out of mana immidiately? Currently I have around 100 mana regen per second and I still go out of mana alot. So how much do I need to be able to use cyclone without my mana moving at all or going low? Thanks.

Sorry, didn't see your original question. I'm not sure how much exactly you need. But, I have around ~240 mana regen per sec with clarity and I never run out. As long as your mregen is higher than the mana cost of cyclone you should be able to sustain it..I think.

How do you achieve 240 mana per second? Do you use Eldrich Battery? I'm using clarity and alot of mana regen gear and still only have around 100 mana per sec.
Awesome answers here, just wanted to add/give my opinion on these points :

1. Crit Chance + Spell Damage are the two most important modifiers you're looking for on weapons. You typically only want to focus your attention on Copper/Gold/Platinum Kris. The reason for this is the 80% Global Crit Modifier. Other daggers are fantastic, but all your damage is based off of landing a Critical Strike. If you are not doing that then you are not casting Ethereal Knives.
If you're going to look for daggers use http://poe.xyz.is. You should not be paying more than 15-30 Chaos Orbs for any dagger. If you are you're spending too much for this build. The luxury of this build is all the gear is extremely inexpensive and you are not required to go get yourself a Lionseye or Bringer of Rain. If you are unable to find a Dagger that works. Grab a whole slew of Orbs of Alteration and a plain Kris and get Crit Chance (25-30% at least) and Spell Damage (20-30% at least) on it and then use a Regal Orb to pump up the rarity. I think I've spent "maybe" 20c on both my daggers. And they are not fantastic, but I still murder monsters better than most.
Spoiler
4. Doing higher lvl maps 73+. Your flasks are going to make or break you. If you check out the gear DonaldF has listed he uses a Jade Flask and a Granite Flask. Both flasks have +1 Charge per crit and +x% to Evasion/Armor. If you make the flasks 20% and pop them, you have 6 seconds of 75% damage reduction without Endurance Charges and the flasks refill 99% of the time before the 6s is up. You want and need these. And you always want 2 since there is always the chance one doesn't reload before the current buff finishes. The same goes for a Lightning Flask. And then you WILL want a Life Flask with Bleed Removal. Puncture is nasty. All of your Flasks should have +1 Charge per Crit. This will mean all of your flasks are up 95-100% of the time without downtime. If you want to have some fun, using a Diamond Flask is awesome for bosses since you will pretty much curb stomp on anything with one up.
6. Passive skills. I do not see any benefit to the 2-3 points put into increased aura skills. So I do not use them. I still use anything that gives me "Reduced Mana Reserved". I do not do much partying so that's my decision. If all you run is 5-6 player parties then keep them since you don't use much mana so you can be "that guy" with the "must have" auras.
7. DESYNC - probably our number #1 enemy. I recommend if you're having a ton of issues, do not have increased movement speed on or use anything like "Lightning Warp" or "Cyclone" to move around. Cyclone typically isn't a huge issue, but if you cyclone then immediately start running at 30-40% movement speed you will desync like crazy. Move a bit slower (I know, no one wants to hear that.) and you should be fine.
For me :
1) Base crit is BY FAR the most important ! The difference between a 9%-base and a 10%-base will be barely 10% difference in the end !
9.3 seems like the minimum, because even with spell-dmg and crit-chance perfectly rolled, your DPS will be way worst :|
Then, yes, "Crit Chance + Spell Damage are the two most important modifiers you're looking for on weapons"
4) This is ABSOLUTELY true !
Here are my flasks :
At some points you'll buyy an armor and say to yourself "ho, nice, with that armor, I got +200armor" believe me, with Surgeon's flasks you have a 80% dmg-reduction with a 100% uptime !
You enter a pack and use jade+granite, you really can't die :)
6) I don't really agree, for 2 tree-points, +25% to aura effect is very good, at least just for hatred
7) Desync = biggest and huge problem in this game, and particulary in this spec. This is what makes me (and a lot of ppl I guess) ignore Hardcore/Nemesis completely.
yeah, you can alt+F4 like everybody's doing but well, if you have to do it every 10 maps not to die, just play Domination :)
And if you don't, you WILL die in desyncs ! YOU WILL !
My tips to get as few Desyncs as possible is to take a little break between cyclones.
When in group you can see ppl chaining their cyclones for 20 seconds (with right-click probably), this = crazy desyncs !
And Killzu, read point #7, and forget about Hardcore :D
I'm new to this game and I was wondering how you can use EK while doing Cyclone. It seems that he uses them simultaneously. Can someone explain this please?
