[1.0.X] [Witch/Templar] Multiple discharge + cast on damage + cast on stun = AFK mass destruction
" With rare jewellery. I plan to add more info about it to the first post as this question is common. For now can just share some raw footage which is somewhat related (ring is still used): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzQBteHUlCA. |

Ok, so I couldn't wait and already made a couple of tests to approximately identify the limits of this spec without both Voll's Devotion amulet and Shavronne's Revelations ring.
Ran several 68-70 maps with elemental weakness, elemental reflect and vulnerability without those uniques, proper flask usage and did not overcap resists for ele reflect. Was ready to RIP but was maybe spared by RNG and ended with a couple of close calls to some suicidal stuff like elemental weakness + elemental reflect packs or tanking physical boss without endurance charges and not using granite flask. Raw footage is recorded, so might add a video and expand the first post as a '1.0.5 update'. Here are preliminary conclutions:
Spoiler
Recommendations for endgame content: Dangerous debuffs: - Low resists, either from elemental weakness or lower maximum resists, are dangerous - Combination of elemental reflect and low resists can be fatal - Without 'Voll's Devotion' (no endurance charges from power charges) physical defence is lower and huge physical hits are even more dangerous - Without 'Shavronne's Revelation' ring (no constant ES regeneration) bleed and other DoTs can be a problem if not paying attention Stat recommendations: - At least 7000 ES with 'Discipline' aura - At least 70% spell crit chance (without power charges; with 'Increased Critical Strikes' support gem) Aura and flask recommendations: - Overcapped resists (at least lightning resist) or Purity of Elements aura are important to deal with elemental weakness - Purity of Lightning aura can be a viable option due to increased lightning resist cap - Bleed dispel, shock dispel and armour flasks are important |

Inb4 build gets nerfed because when the pvp tournament season starts you can afk pvp to get season reward points.
just playing but having fun pvping and mapping with this build on standard. has turned out just as good as your character. I can see the flaws in going scion compared to templar/witch though. I went scion because originally I was on nemesis trying to make it viable there. I added you in game btw! ScarceNuke is my character name. |

Guyz, im have Vaal Pact, but still dying to reflect! Why?????? My gear:

" Reflect + Vaal Pact work this way: If you discharge into a pack enemies, you FIRST receive the reflected damage of enemy #1, THEN the life leech from it, then the refelect of #2, then leech #2 and so on. That means your life/ES pool has to be big enough to survive the reflect (mitigated by your ele resists) of one enemy. Just calculate what damage you deal (not average, but the spike of a critical), multiply with 0.15 (reflect portion) and 0.25 (i assume you have maxed resists). If the number is higher than your life/ES pool you die occasionally. To avoid that either increase your life/ES pool or decrease your damage (crit multiplier for example, lowering crit chance won't make a difference, as the damage spike would be the same). EDIT: Just remembered, the succession is leech - reflect damage - leech ... So you start with full health before the first damage package arrives. The rest of the above explanation still stands. Bada_Bing got it right.
There are some quirks that I don't get though, like why I often get back less ES even though reflected damage is 18%*(100%-75%)=4.5% (due to 75% resists) and life leeched is 8.8% (from lvl 20 Life Leech gem). 8.8 is nearly twice as much as 4.5 but in practice the result can be lower. I dont RIP to reflect though even with 630% crit multiplier (!) and lvl 20 discharge. Anyways I made a couple changes to gem setup to compensate for reflect and several other hard map mods by swapping gems or gear. Now plan to test how it performs and add more info to the first post with a video. Might test a change in talents too. However as a 1.0.5 update I plan to add info on performance without Voll's Devotion and Shavronne's Revelation (both not available in new leacgues). So all mentioned above most likely will be pushed back to a 1.0.6 update. Lots of stuff to do... please stand by :). |

" Try replacing 'Critical Strike Damage' in chest with 'Cast when Stunned' (leave everything else as it is) and please report back the results. |

I'm having problems when it comes to the Undying Evangelists, everything else melts like in the video of yours but when i run into the evangelists mobs I get DC'd for some reason i was wondering if anyone else was having this issue? It happens when there is more than 3-4 of them right up in my face, when discharge goes off its back to login i go.
I believe my gear is similar to most of yours

@Bada_Bing; @Redzor
Thx guyz, until now, zero deaths! Redzor, i have 2 questions. Should i keep mine dagger o divinarius is better? The other question is, in your opinio, what would you improve on my gear? Last edited by jeanpain#4366 on Jan 2, 2014, 9:58:57 PM

Hey mate, u made me start a new witch (lvl 64 so far - starting playing ur build with lvl 69). Love your guide!
That's my EQ I bought extra for this build: Think that's good enough? Kinda didn't look for mana actually so I'm a bit concerned about if it's gonna be enough to cast all the required spells... Would you recommend to improve any of that gear or is it enough to run all maps? Last edited by maikanafufaika#2858 on Jan 3, 2014, 3:20:09 AM
