free bump
Not playing anymore. It was a fun ride since 2013!! I just browse the forum now. ~~~~~ "We are spiritual beings having a human experience, not the other way around." ~~~~~"All that you are is the sum of all your thoughts."

I'm back for a while :).

Got some time to play and successfully tanked full party Shrine (lvl 77 map) Piety with less maximum resisits, vulnerability and increased cast and attack speed mods! First time on this map, was fun.

Recorded the fight and will upload on youtube tomorrow.

EDIT: Tested Berserking node and will add some info to the first post about it as well.

Hi!

Long time facebreaker, first time poster here.

I am running a similar build to yours. Same gear, but slightly different talent setup.

I had a bit of an idea the other day that I figured I should share.

I've been lucky to have a bit of resists on my rings already, so I was able to ditch Purity and for only 3 passive points (via the 15% resist nodes by the Marauder start) cap my resists without the aura running. With the removal of the bonus to the cap from the aura there is little real need to require it anymore. Minor success. Huzzah!

Step 2 of my brilliant plan was putting my CoDT on the shield, linked with just the Rank 5 Enfeeble and Enduring Cry. This freed up the RRRB of the boots, which I then socketed with Tempest Shield, Life Leech (although I am thinking Life Gain on Hit might be better), Reduced Mana and Iron Will. This freed up two points that were previously spent to help reach block cap. Minor success, again. Huzzah!

The end result of it all though is that I am still resist capped, and now all of those sweet, sweet blocks which already help sustain is via the Aegis Aurora also help leech a bunch of life, and further help beating the enemies into oblivion.

With a few more levels and an increased total HP pool to leech to I'm hoping to be able to try an AFK kill of Piety this way... Just because, why not?

In more serious terms though, this passive life leech is a nice bonus to incoming life, and can help sustain the general punching during a Half Regen or (in theory at least) No Regen map. Passively hitting resistance caps also makes Blood Magic maps less of a hassle. And by hanging onto the Purity gem and swapping out Determination for it when needed it also helps with Elemental Weakness maps. In theory at least. I've not had a chance to test it THAT much yet. :)

Cheers!

Wow, great idea, will try it and incorporate in the guide with credit :). It seems that I need to get ring(s) with better resists for it though...

Really neat idea, trying to incorporate some of it into my facebreaker build. I have taken Unwavering Stance though. In my opinion there is no reason not to, since you are already forgoing all evasion with Iron Reflexes. I see your point about blind from BoR, but how much is it gonna help without evasion anyway? With this high of a block chance for both phys and spells it is a good node to take.

Also, I'd recommend having a phys damage amulet to swap out with lazhwar for easier maps/content. Taking away that much phys damage from a facebreaker is hurting the build, but I can see that lazhwar is really important to make the spell block work.

With almost 5k health I nearly never get stunned. Blind makes bosses even easier, they miss most of their attacks when blinded.

Hi Redzor. Finnaly I got all items on Nemezis :)

Can You tell me why Grace give me more armour than determination ?
Which level do You have on molten shell and cast when damage taken ?

With Iron Reflexes node evasion converts to armor and gets multiplied by appropriate nides. Depending on which nodes are taken and initial amounts of armor and evasion either of the auras becomes better. I think that for this spec Grace is better, but I don't have enough dexterity to run it.

I am maxing my gems in shield. They don't do much, but I haven't thought of any other options that are notably better.

Do you have any mana leech? I seem to be having mana problems while trying this build.

I'm using blood magic gem linked to my main attack, so mana is used just for auras.

This build works great. I have been able to do any 74+ maps so far.

One question though. If I wanted to increase the DPS a little bit, what would be the best path? Which stats or passive skills should I go for? I managed to achieve the 15k DPS advertised on the thread naturally, but I figure it will be lacking when I group maps, as so far I've been doing then solo.

As I am pretty immortal so far, and playing Standard, I would be willing to trade a little bit of survivability for it.

I haven't looked for any good options to improve DPS other than taking Berserking and duelist and marauder starting phyisical damage nodes (still getting these myself). I think 20k DPS is about maximum that can be achieved with these nodes, gem setup and good rings.

I'm using a similar gear setup but with frenzy as the main attack and getting up to 48k dps with frenzy multistrike melee splash added fire in the BoR.

I planned a frenzy spec without blood magic gem myself but don't have time to test it. It's definetely viable.

How much would this cost to build on softcore?

BoR ~ 10-15 ex, Aegis ~ 10-15 ex, Rainbowstrides legacy ~7-10 ex, Meginords ~1 ex, Facebreaker legacy ~2-10 ex, rings ~1-10 ex

And it was less than 12-15 exalts for everything before release... I got my helm for less than 4ex and gloves for several chaoses.
