pabrt's Critical Mass Discharger 1.2 (molten strike coc)

Just some funny stuff I've been trying out http://youtu.be/XEp7MS_lNsA http://youtu.be/rncgWUdrj_0

Time to get back to writing though.
Why not both storm call and discharge? I'm on a 5-link so I can't test with 2 blue sockets :(

I gotta say getting a shield for extra tankiness seems tempting but how do you even sustain your mana with cyclone?
There's no reason to use storm call other than because it looks cool (in cast on crit), so I was running 2 for maximum visual effect. I don't think it's a viable spell to use.

A shield is required for cyclone, as it swings with both weapons. For double strike you don't need one. I used a clarity aura + mana leech to sustain my cyclone in the video.
I finally found how to modify the build and make it work nicely with cyclone. I had a lot of survivability issues in the 70s against physical so i thought i'd try a different approach, using 2 Ungil's gauche and moving some points after IR to get the 10% dual wield block node. Currently running around with 67% block, 90% all resists, the usual high armor from flasks and IR and using purity of elements/purity of lightning/grace as auras with a BM gem for my cyclone.

It didn't work so well at the start because of the huge cost of cyclone, i did more damage to myself than mobs so... i switched one of my rings for a Gifts from above and wow ! It fits the build so nicely. It pops consecrated ground all over the place while i'm cycloning through mobs and gives me enough regen that my life is full all the time, though it makes quite a mess on the visual side between discharge spam and consecrated ground.

Also using Rat's nest (loooove the speed) and another diamond ring for crit to make up the low crit from Ungil's, i still get around 72% crit with no power charge, so i can switch to any dagger when i don't need the block and take spell damage instead while still having enough crit. I take both res auras to patch up my low resists from gear and PoL for dominus/reflect as most of my damage is lightning. The plan is to take Purity of fire instead of elements if i can upgrade my cold res on gear.

I just wish i could find a way to survive the reflect packs better, at 81 it's getting a bit slow as grouping is very risky. Even with all the resists and regen i pretty much die instantly if a reflect packs shows up on my path, usually the crabs popping out of the ground before i can see them.

I've never been that close of having my dream build where i can just cyclone all around the screen at high speed and aoe everything while having good defense and some magic find... If only the reflect packs didn't ruin my fun :/

Yes i have 88 resist with flask up, but i still die through lightning thorns, if only 1 guy has lightning thorns up its fine but normally they cast it on all of them. I guess i m gonna try and get a 20% life leech.
ign: Holyyyyyyy
I feel I should have emphasized the need for a 20q life leech if you are not going vaal pact. It seemed obvious but... yeah. Without it, lightning thorns and reflect will be very dangerous.

Edited the OP to emphasize it.

Although if you are still having reflect problems even with 20q, vaal pact is only 7 points away. It would probably solve all reflect/lightning thorns problems.

do have a tree for a ci version of this?

This is my CI passive tree for this build:

I assume you are taking the ES wheel for your remaining points?
Tried Vaal Pact, i could keep it for about 2 maps before refunding out of it. It's awesome to survive ele reflect, though the cost for me was to be squishy on everything else, hardly a good deal. Lack of life regen/pots is really a killer, though i can see it working better with the double strike build, it doesn't seem to be worth it for a life build.

Seems like i'll never get rid of the constant fear of ele reflect packs in groups. :/
I am using double strike and life build. I would try out vaal pact myself except I haven't had trouble with reflect mobs so far.
