pabrt's Critical Mass Discharger 1.2 (molten strike coc)

Okay, this might sound a bit unusual, but anyone thinking about having a Vaal Pact Life Base Discharge? I kinda thinking about it a bit, the Node is 7P from Dex route and give access to MOM for who having decent Mana pool (Okay... with EB most of us can have decent Mana Pool after Discipline), or 10P from near Berserking and go through +1 Endurance Charge (if you use Voll's Devotion / CwDT (CoS) - Enduring Cry / Anything else that generate Endurance Charge). So if we can maintain the Discharge Rate I think we could be safe from Reflect and still be effective. And since we don't run Life Flask this won't affect us in any kind except the passive points.

This simply my opinion though, please give me your thought about this and why this is / isn't a good choice. :P

@pabrt: Will Surgeon's Jade Flask of Resistance be a acceptable replacement for Surgeon's Jade Flask of Reflexes? Because the extra Resistances make it extremely easy to shop for gear especially on low levels. I know we gonna lose some (or ton?) of AR due to the fact that we spec IR. But I really want to know what your thought on this.

Vaal Pact is great, it just costs a lot of points to get it. If you feel like you can afford it by all means.

Yeah you can swap reflexes for resistances, just make sure you can tank smashes still!
Leveling up a new character to try this build out. I know you said at 40 you can switch from ST to the build the skills use but will that still level as fast as ST? I have the main items for the build but was just wondering before I started looking for level 40 gear. Thanks in advance.
I just got really bored of ST by that time. You could stay ST for as long as you want, it's probably safer up until 60, so if you're in nemesis...

I think from around mid 40s the discharge build should be faster, but if course ST scales with twink weapons so ymmv.
Haven't been playing a ton lately but I thought I'd give an update on a little testing I was doing.

Using Firestorm instead of a Inc. Crit support on your discharge seems to be more effective. It provides a lot of power charges that translate directly to increased discharge damage (and mimics the increased crit support), and lets you fill your flasks without using the magnate belt. That way you can use a belt with increased flask duration, or just good defensive stats.

So overall using Firestorm in the 6L provides more damage, flask charges, life leech, and frees up your belt slot.

So you mean that i need to replace my:

Concentrated effect or Increased critical chance gem for FS ?.

IGNs: eternal_nina, eternal_madira, eternal_reaper, getmyshadow, eternal_ihgheart, eternal_darkess.
I only see a conc. effect gem in there, no inc crit gem. Since you're using cyclone I can't say how effective it is, as you are moving around. It might move the mob out of the firestorm.

But yeah if you wanted to try it you can stick a firestorm gem in place of conc effect.

You need a much higher level Cast on crit gem.

I think a q firestorm is pretty cheap? Anyway, you don't have to use firestorm :P I just think it has more potential, but inc crit works fine.

Trying out Cyclone + Cast on Crit + Multi + Life leech + 2x Storm call just for fun. It looks really cool, but the desync is amazingly bad.
