But for example if you need effects of other flasks that have low affinity but you cant use them because you have to heal often?

Unequip higher affinity flask :o)

Point of affinity is to have a way to prioritise what flask charges 1st, 2nd, etc. If it's on random - Chris still haven't confirmed that - than, with 5 flasks equipped, there's 20% chance certain flask will receive charge. In scenario you mentioned, there's 80% chance you won't receive charge in desired flask. Even worse, 10 or more future charges might end in other 4 flasks! With affinity scenario like this:

1. some flask with "Very high affinity", 5 charges
2. your desired flask with "High affinity", 5 charges
3. three other flasks with lower than "High affinity", or no affinity at all

you know for sure that after flask 1. receives 5 charges, the next one will go to flask 2. - it's much better deal than gambling with no affinity setup, really.

the lesser important ones in the following slots

Will there be flasks that are able to refill intelligence armor's energy shield?

The necessity of this, in my eyes, is determinant on how say a witch is meant to be set up. The way I see it intelligence armor's energy shield will be some sort of cross between the mana and energy shields of Diablo I & II (in that they are meant primarily to be available to spell casters), and the Starcraft series psionic/Protoss shields (in that they regenerate outside of combat), both of which must be depleted before a character's 'actual' hit points can be reduced.

What it comes down to is what hit/shield point 'model' PoE's intelligence armor's energy shield is based on. From the Witch Announcement Article back in December, it sounded like the character model for a witch would be like that of an Archon (35:1) or what was arguably the most efficient defensive style for the Mage/Elementalist from Diablo I & II. Unlike the Mage and Elementalist though, it appears as though the energy shield in PoE will not deduct mana from a character (like the Protoss from the Starcraft Series), which would otherwise deplete the fire power and along with it the survivability of a character in Diablo I & II. The likely 'models' for hybrid characters would likely be that of a Zealot (1:2) for Strength/Intelligence and a Stalker (1:1) or Dragoon (4:5) for Dexterity/Intelligence.

I do not expect witches to be as fast/mobile as the Strength/Intelligence and Dexterity/Intelligence hybrids, so they will not be as able to get out of ambush situations and the like through that method (as I would expect them to be not as readily exposed to speed modifiers on equipment). The witch announcement states that...

The question is, will enemies have to break through a player's energy shield before they are stunned or can they be stunned before energy shield gives out? If they cannot be stunned before the energy shield is depleted, then flasks that refill the energy shield are not as important, but if they can be stunned before their energy shield gives way, there definitely is grounds for such a flask property. The ability to be stunned before their shield is depleted can be seen as a distinct disadvantage, as a marauder (or any other character that is not dependent on energy shields) will be able to refill their hit points so they are not within 'stunning territory' (whether that is a damage percentage of total hit points or if they go below a certain percentage of total hit points they are more likely to be stunned) but an intelligence aligned character would/will not have that option, which in turn would greatly reduce their survivability like the depletion of mana did for a mage or elementalist in Diablo I & II.

I do not know which flask, mana or health or 'rejuvenation', an energy shield property would optimally work with, or if it would be refilled by percentage of total energy shield (e.g. 33% is .33*300=100) or by 'hard numbers' like other flasks seem to be... But, I have hopefully effectively illustrated the need for such a flask property (if a player can be stunned before the depletion of their shields), as I doubt a player will have the desire or the opportunity to remain out of a battle long enough for their energy shield to refill.

I don't get what you are trying to say here. Probably it's my english.

BTW I would have free space in my inventory also because of the loot mechanic. Too bad you may lose a unique or godly rare because of flask hoarding. If you won't carry more than a few then I don't see any problem with it either...

a review does not exclude good or negative points, so maybe it was your english.

who said i wont have free space in my invent? alot of asumptions by the guys who disagree with it lol, i said it depends on what situation your putting yourself in. clearly most people going to play this are going to be very static and poor at changes and surprises

and im sorry if your invent is full for whatever reason it is, its quite obvious youd drop something for a rare surely ;-)

theres 60 spaces in your invent remember and flasks take 2 each

so miss out on loot due to a small jewellery and flask variation? i seriously doubt it lol

You haven't really answered DarkRookie's question on how multiple flasks fill up. If charge is split over all flasks, how fast newly equipped flask fills up if other 4 are full? 4/5 of charge dissapears, or 5th flask receives full charge e.g. it fills up 5 times faster than if all 5 flasks were empty?

If you have several flasks that are say 4/5 full and you gain a flask charge, it'll fill one of the flasks to 5/5 full.

How is it determined which flask gets filled?

It's currently random.

Because of your no-punctuation typing, I have a hard time to understand your posts. So I'm trying to make things clear this time.

1. If you won't fill all your inventory with flasks, why do you whine? What are you trying to say?
2. Do you really know someone can get your drop after a second?
3. Potion hoarding was flawed because it was granting players instant and endless health. I think you agree that this won't be a problem with this system. So, why does backing up a few flasks for different mods is a problem for you?
4. Aside from the fact that English is not my native language, your typing makes it much more worse for me to understand your posts.

That your english is good enough to understand grammar and correct punctuation to the point you would pick someone up on it, but ok ;-)

1, i am not whining, no idea where your getting that from

2, the item drop system is not finalised. who said anything about me being in a group?

3, i do agree and no it is not a problem. my opinion was that it would replace number of stacked potions to spam with a horde of different mod flasks instead. as chris made a reply to that point saying charges are only held within the belt it is not such an issue. but does not exclude taking more than 5 flasks with you

4, proper english is overrated if you are indeed english, i come hear to raise points not create an essay for a test score ;-)

but sure my grammar and punctuation is not good on forums as i type like i speak
