I linked my gear on filming the vid , I tanked orchard boss even before that. Optimal gear =/= required gear. If I can start mapping 4 days into a new league and immediately do some of the harder bosses, the build is NOT expensive to make it work.

Completely False. I'm lvl 70 in utter shit gear and starting up maps with little to no real difficulty. I do have to be careful of what mods I roll, but I'm having little trouble.

The reason he linked his better gear is to showcase the higher level maps he can run solo once you do have endgame gear. The build is incredibly functional at low gear levels making it incredibly noob friendly to players with next to no currency.

Yes it buffs the fire damage , but it also completely removes any other forms of damage. Making fire resist a pain , ele reflect a death sentence, and mana ahuge issue because of no mana leech , and you'd also have no life leech. You'd need to run blood magic and life leech on your infernal blow. The damage gain from avatar of fire is completely not worth losing 2 supports ( and is often not even a real gain because of monsters or map mods having ele/fire resist quite often )

I'm doing a slight variation of this build right now, currently level 54, so I'll let you know how it works out in a few levels when I can use aegis and everything else.

I'm 15% far from lvl82 and it's going really good I think. Even that I still can't afford Aegis Aurora. Max I did was 73lvl map solo.

First build that i love after playing sometime and not boring me.
I'm playing on nemesis (77lvl so far) and traded my dorp from mervil - uniqe prismatic ring for that chest. Then i wanted to 5l this and after 60 fuses it happend ;O


Not much to say without that chest i have like 2ex in currency and nothing else. Im still shocked.
So i guess im lucky to with that build :D
Anyway, with 6l dps is kinda nice,on my 250dps mace, lvl 17 gems, with 1 phys dmg ring i have 7500 k dps with infernal blow, clearing maps till 70 is imba fast so i woudn't put "dps on lower side" in notes ;D
The problem is now, mana... with 4link i dont needed even mana pot, now with clarity instead of tempest shield and mana pot im runing so fast from mana, probaby need to replace faster attacks with mana leech. Looks like 2% mana leech from gear is not enough.

Can't wait for Soul Taker and Ageis combo tho :D

I've been using this build on my main (a 56 duelist xD). I just got into merciless thanks to a very helpful 81 that helped me kill dominus. However right now I'm getting owned pretty hard and I'm not really sure why. Here is my gear:


Now what should I upgrade next? Should i look for res/life/armour gear first or would a 4L that allows me to use this:
'4L RRRB : cast when damage taken lvl 1, enduring cry lvl 5, molten shell lvl 7, summon skeletons lvl 7'
be way better to stop me from dying? Also should I farm piety in cruel or should I try and reach the ledge (probably dying a million times) and farm there?

Fantastic build, has been my main for some time now and the gear required to start maps was so low. Am level 84 now and have managed to max my Chaos res in addition to ele res, but am still working on attaining my Aegis (at about 7-8 ex). Have been able to run a variety of 72-76 maps solo, though have had to bail on a couple of the bosses who hit too hard for me yet.

Thanks for posting this, it has been a godsend after not being able to enjoy my first character (LA Ranger).

To the poster above: Try going on poe.xyz.is website and find some better +life +resist gear for cheap prices, I imagine you should be able to get some upgrades for very little. I'd also suggest trying to look for another weapon as there's a lot of room to improve there.

As for farming, try to farm at the highest level that you can without dying a lot, dying in merciless is very punishing and you won't be getting anywhere fast if you're struggling there. If you need a hand or perhaps I could help you out on the gear front then whisper me at: @PerrinAyabarra
