[1.0.6] 1H shield infernal blow marauder/duelist with video by boxsalesman ( immortal build )

What's your thoughts on Hrimnor's Resolve Samite Helmet magier? seeing it gives +fire damage, would that be greater or just minor boost to infernal blow? And would this build benefit from avoid frozen/chilled in anyway? In other words: would it be a good idea to spend 2-5 chaos for this, or just get other helm?

This would indeed be a decent helm until you get a high armour/life resist helm. Definately not best in slot but a very viable choice for starting maps.

Thnx for the guide, it's a lot of fun to play this build...playing it with Tabula Rasa (until I get a decent 5L Armor), insteat of Faster Attacks with Blood Magic Gem. Skilled Iron Reflexes and running it with Grace and Determination...works fine.

Leveling was a breeze.

Got hands on this for 1ex.

This build is awsome. Farming maps is breeze and drops are not that bad either. My loot after 1 1/2 day soloing lvl 66-68 maps.



Wanna try BoR but gotta re spec first in order to get Iron Reflexes.

can i use blood magic node??.. its like 3 nodes away from the skill path.. i am having big problems with mana.

Try using 1 aura when you have Blod Magic and see what happens. IMO mana leach is your friend. I got Wurms Molt Unique belt and solved mine mana leach problems at least until I find decent mana leach ring.

Thanks for the guide. I just read the thread and have a few questions, the first is just to clarify. The specifics you give about the cast on damage taken linked spells is due to recent changes to the CoDT gem, right? Further, is there any play in the spell levels you've mentioned? User specific or will it break, period?

Is there a +/- levels on CoTD, MS, etc?

Is this still a fun, solid build?

I like guides because I don't like to find out I wasted my time @ lvl 80 like other games we've all played, so thanks for putting this together for others to see.

Playing this build on Domination league.

Really loving this build, I had some major ups and downs, some that turned me away from this character, but ultimately is was the only character I was able to get to merc piety and actually farm (though risky, died once or twice doing it....but after everything but a templar and shadow, I decided to stick with this one).

Piety dropped this beauty for me:



My DPS went from 3.1k Infernal Blow, to 5.3k Infernal Blow, forgetting to swap out my melee physical damage gem. Putting WED in its place, my DPS goes up to 7.2k.

Unfortunately I was unable to keep up with the mana cost as I do not have a soul taker. So I got the suggestion to throw Blood Magic on it, and while the mana cost goes up to 113 life, I have plenty of regen and leech to cover it.

It dropped my DPS back down to 5.3k, but for reference my Heavy Strike was only doing 4.9k when I got the BoR....so now my IB is more DPS and full AoE (with explosions) than my Heavy Strike, plus I had to sacrifice the 4l that heavy strike was in to be able to use it.

I also dropped unwavering stance, at least for now (don't want to pick it up when I get to higher lvl maps, but I might have to). So I have currently a 25% chance to evade (lvl 70), and with blind from BoR, mobs I hit only have a 25% chance to hit me in the first place.

tl;dr - Piety dropped me a near perfect BoR and it is awesome on this build but you may have to run blood magic unless you have a soul taker.....I'm lvl 70 and I just facetanked map Brutus with very little potion usage (1 diamond flask usage and 1 use of 1 of my 2 health flasks used).
