[1.0.6] 1H shield infernal blow marauder/duelist with video by boxsalesman ( immortal build )

I find that leveling my CwDT gem does not noticeably proc it less (currently level 5 and my EC MS decoy totem are 9-10). I have my higher level EC that I cast once for lots of charges then let it proc automatically. It still procs frequently.

It all depends on how much damage you take and I don't think there is 1 ideal setup anymore. I encourage everyone to try leveling your CwDT gem a bit and seeing if it still procs often. I figure OP is probably a lot tankier than me though so maybe level 1 is ideal for him. At this point the tankier you are the less effective the gem is as an all-purpose defensive scheme because you need it at a lower level to proc frequently, which drags down the power of the active skills CwDT is supporting.

Again, I would encourage people to test out leveling the gem a bit. I know you're taking more damage than you used to without a level 18 molten shell all the time :D

currently 72, finally came to fruition at 70 ish.

My 4 link cwdt is - MS, decoy totem, enduring. I think i might get it to level 5-10 for a few reaons.

1- Low level MS doesn't do much...even if it proces every 2 seconds
2- It's hard to keep end charges up at 7 with a level 1 cwdt
3- If i were to link in enfeeble, the radius would be much better
4- Enduring can only go off every 4 seconds anyway, so doubling the "proc" damage would be just fine imo.

Box, what's your thoughts on this? what level is your's at?


Also, what about running artic armor over tempest shield? yes, it's a bit of a mana drain, but it might be some nice mitigation? Not sure if it would work with aegis though either.


As for weapons, if you are nem i really recommend the mace - life nodes, better overall dual nodes, etc. You can get yourself a nice 250+ pDPS weapon for 10-20 chaos. I got this last night for 14

Hello from one Aegis user to another! For context, I'm in Domination and am now lvl 78.

I'm interested in your reasoning behind using Infernal Blow. I myself am using a 1h Sword and Reave with Conc Effect, and I find that I do pretty amazing DPS that's purely physical, so does not get mitigated at all, really.

I found the way the explosions interact rather intruiging though, it seems to me that clearing big packs is really no problem. On the flip side, I'm not entirely sure how well you cope with single target? Reave provides me with excellent DPS against all kinds of mobs.

How big of a hit is Fire Resistance? Flammability helps, I'm sure, but I'm still curious. If mobs have no resistance at all, is the DPS increase from negative resistances worth the trouble?

Also, I want to point out that Iron Reflexes enables you to use Grace as a defensive aura. As it gives 2000EV at level 20, the Grace+Determination aura combo is INCREADIBLY powerful, and even with both gems being level 12 at the moment they increase my armor rating from 4000 to 10000. I can now facetank Dominus, too. (Only problem is the chaos damage unique, but as long as I attack I leech it all back anyway). Giving up Hatred would mean a pretty big loss to your DPS, I know, but I implore you to give it a try once you can afford the points to go there.

On the flip side, using Hatred would bump me to 12000 DPS Reave, so I can kinda see why you wouldn't want to give up on the damage increase.

I ended up taking the 30 dex node , which allows running a lvl 19 hatred with ANY dexterity on gear. ( keep in mind we also take 2 x 20 dexterity , on acceleration and on water dancing )

Couldnt this be played as a templar aswell? or is there something about skill gems you get when lvling up not being right?

Templar would work as well, but i do think the other two trees are a bit more starter friendly.

As an update, i'm currently 74 atm. I can't afford an aegis aurora, so im using "the anvil" instead w/ rainbowstrides. I'm still at 22% spell block ( 62 ish melee/ranged) which imo is pretty nice still.


With 4600, the anvil procs of 40 per block and 20 mana I pretty much can't die outside of LMP dogs (at even then i'm pretty tanky still).

So anyone looking at viable alteratives until you can drop 8-9 exalts, get the anvil for a few chaos.

I'm a huge fan of minmaxing , and the templar start is worse than the other starts , it would "work" , but it would be worse
