I'm just comparing to see which one appears to be a better mix of dps and survivability for SC.

It looks like a decent build but I feel like it can't get anywhere near the level of tanky that this build achieves.

EB + MoM is absolutely massive. Not only does it give you a TON of regen to use whatever links you want in your main spell (and to run a max AA) it allows MoM to gives us an INSANE amount of survivability.

While Aegis Aurora is extremely strong I feel like it's better suited with a melee build that uses blood magic gem or a soul taker. For a caster build there's just far too many benefits to convert all of that ES to mana.

The Aegis is kind of basically doing the same thing that EB + MoM does but far less effective. With Aegis your ES is a buffer to your health, with EB + MoM your mana is a buffer for your health.

Except with the aegis that ES is ONLY used to mitigate damage, whereas with EB + MoM not only is your mana giving you lots of mitigation via MoM it's giving you lots of regen to allow you to run a high lvl AA, and to be able to throw whatever you want in your incinerate links (whether its a 4,5 or 6 link) and be able to use it because your regen is so high.

Hope this helps.

That's exactly the explanation I was looking for before investing in a respec to this style of build, thanks.

what are ur thoughts on iron grip? its only 2 points away and it seems a big dps boost.
ign @Firion_Black
Iron Grip only works on attacks, not spells.

As Xethik said, only works with Attacks.

That being said if it worked with all projectiles (both spell-based and attack-based) it would def be worth getting.

Would there be a dps gain using Added Lightning Damage(preferably with quality) + Static Blows (extra 2 points spent) instead of Added Chaos Damage? I realize the hits are very small so I'm not sure how long it would last.

No, it's been tested and you can't shock anything for more than a fourth or fifth of a second.

It's just not doing enough damage per hit to do meaningful shock stacks. You can maybe get a single shock stack rolling on it but the only way to get 2 or 3 stacks would be if TS got a shock too, and that's very sporadic and short even with Static Blows.

Yes and no, depends on what your definition of useful is...

Yes, if you want to get a lot of extra survivability by making it exponentially harder for mobs to deal damage to you.

No, because it won't be adding any damage to your Incin.

I wouldn't use it but if you consider having pretty much 100% uptime on blind strong, then go for it.

With that being said though I feel like blind is one of the more underrated mechanics in the game, after having it on a BoR character for awhile you really do appreciate just how much it adds to your survivability.
