I've been playing a crit trapper from scratch with mostly selffound items and I can attest that leveling isn't at all a problem. I leveled with the aid of spectral throw till around lvl 15 after which the trap damage went way above spectral throws usefulness.
Right now i'm lvl 60 in nemesis and reaching end of Act 2 merciless with all gear selffound or crafted, only purchases I made was for the gems I need. Here's my current skill tree: Here's what I've been using for a while now: |

Loving the new updates following in - still using non-crit as I don't have the currency to switch yet but hope to one day :).
One question I do have, was wondering at what point picking up Eldritch Battery becomes viable - is there a certain ES amount? Currently 85, with MoM and 400ish ES. Not sure if its more beneficial to have that switched into Mana (I do occasionally, specially while being wailed on) have Mana issues. Obviously due to lack of Mana Regen, but I don't see you mentioning that while running Grace + Clarity + AA, so I figured it may be time to pick up Eldritch. Thoughts? |

" Just sayin, EB gives you a bigger mana pool, and as a consequence of it, a greater mana regen. So, imo, it's faaaaaar time to grab EB :) Last edited by valarhexile#3016 on Dec 12, 2013, 7:22:26 AM

" Grab it whenever you're having mana issues, or you can grab it to free up mana potions on your bar once I Hit a 250 es pool I went for EB | |
" Thanks Pohx and Valarhexile - my only concerns were with if I would be at a disadvantage (survivability-wise) if I was to give up ES. From my understanding; Chaos ignores ES, and (correct me if I am wrong) each hit first clears your ES, then onto HP (in our case MoM takes 30% damage as Mana). So with the removal of ES into Mana (through EB) as long as I have Mana for MoM to do its magic, I should be at no disadvantage with ES being removed? Though the 70% remaining will eat straight into my HP - I'm just concerned about both sides of the coin :). Thanks for clearing up the Mana related side! |
