[1.0.5] Pohx's 1181% Crit Multi Conduit Solo/Party Trapper [Nemesis] Vids Included
Have the two Trapper pieces of gear been discussed in this thread?
Sunblast, Cloth Belt Deerstalker, Deerskin Boots The boots are fairly cheap and would obviously lose their effectiveness late game but Ive seen Pohx still using the belt, even though on several videos he says you dont need it. Being able to effectively 5L a skill on the Boots (since they automatically support everything with Trap) seems like a good plan, but the mana costs early could get outrageous. That said, having the OPTION to is nice, plus being able to zoom zoom around constantly is amazing, especially if your gear doesnt support being able to be hit much. The belt seems like a later game investment, though. Some guy wanted 1EX for a shotty rolled one. Anyone have thoughts on these two pieces of equipment? " I personally love the boots. Having a 2-3 chaos 5L that also gives you a constant 30% MS vs. a much more expensive set of boots with resists, MS, and life. To me the 5L wins out since the rest of my gear can support life and resists. I plan on using them until I start stacking MF on this character. The belt really doesn't interest me much. It seems too expensive for what it provides, and the trade off is pretty huge considering how much life and resists you give up. To me spending 2 EX on a good Amy, weapon, or shield would be a better investment for added damage without giving up all the defensive stats. The auto trigger of traps is very situational and I could see it being detrimental for some traps such as bear trap. (can't use bear trap as a defensive shield between you and the mob) Pohx would have better input on the belt as he has actually been using it, but I can't see myself grabbing one anytime soon. |

If you take a look at the top right of the skill tree, where " High Explosives Are " You're essentially giving up 3-4 Life nodes by using sunblast, ( End game of course ) If you wanted to be realistic, grab a life + Resist Belt, pull 4 points out life ( 8 % Nodes of course ) and spec into these 4 Nodes, you get 27% Trsp damage & 10% Penetration VS ( Sunblast 30-40% )
Still going to use CODT with the new nerf?

" Yep, it still works. just took out molten shell and put it in a 3 link
" Although I have agreed with you on everything else so far I think we have a difference of opinion on this one. The high explosives node is imo the best trap cluster in the tree. In that cluster you get 39% trap damage, 10% larger trigger radius (this is actually pretty amazing), 3% trap speed (meh), and 10% elem penetration. The elem penetration is multiplicative with all other damage mods whereas trap damage is additive with other trap damage mods. So in a dumbed down scenario, assume fire trap does 1000 fire damage after spell and fire damage mods. Assume 100% trap damage base. Now if you compare 10% fire penetration vs. 10% additional trap damage you get the following results: (assume mob has 50% fire resistance) 10% fire penetration - 1000 base fire dmg x 2 (from 100% trap damage) x .6 (monster resists 40% of the damage due to 10% fire penetration) = 1200 damage 10% trap damage - 1000 base fire damage x 2.1 (from 110% trap damage) x .5 (monster resists 50% of the damage) = 1050 damage. In this scenario you would need 40% added trap damage to be equivalent to the same damage increase that 10% elem pen provides. This wouldn't apply to the physical dmg portion of bear and EK traps, so it wouldn't be a flat 1 to 4 ratio on return on investment but for a single passive point its still the largest dps increase on the tree. |

I don't understand, I stated I am getting the cluster, do you just mean It would be worth getting it before the previous Node south of the Shadow tree?
I was simply comparing the best 4 Points to put into if you were to remove 4 Points of life, I'm definitely going to get the Trap radius, It would greatly benefit bear trap since it's already hard to aim at moving targets Last edited by Pohx#1588 on Nov 13, 2013, 3:03:19 PM

" Haha I guess I still do agree with everything you have written then. It seems that I misunderstood what you were saying. I'll leave my post as it has some useful information, but I do beg your pardon Pohx. |

" Only reason I went south is I wanted immediate damage since I was already deep into the tree and High level, and the south portion would give you more damage for Less points, where as the top gives you more damage for more points , I'm also still testing out the crit xD
3 New Videos should be Up!
