There will be a new Level 1 Marauder added to your account whose inventory contains the rewards.
And as it is such so also as such is it unto you

Race starts, first zombie drops gem + white item. Clearly click gem, pick up white item instead. Click gem again, move on top of it but dont pick up. Click gem yet again, finally picks up. Good start... Go to place gem in starter weapon, 2nd time, 3rd time, 4th time, 5th time, check net graph, check router, alls well. Leave inv screen, randomly drop gem on ground without clicking. Pick back up, finally goes into starter weapon. Wonder why i didnt get first hillock kill? @__@

Bit over 1 hour and 100+ fake flask gulps later, im at western forest in mostly whites with no movement boots. Do i derrrp for 2 hours and hit 28, or do i attempt cruel dressed in rags? Operation rag run is go!

Bit over another 1.5 hours, 100+ more fake flask gulps and about 20 desync-induced bails later, im at cruel ledge in mostly blues with no movement boots.

Better late than never!

Lvl 24 in the end, 3rd place shadow and 25th place overall.

Feedback:
- Races shouldnt reward those who take the path of least resistance.
- Races shouldnt reward partyers simply for being in a party.
- Bosses shouldnt have so much life that any non glass cannon build is forced to repeatedly portal for flask refills during the battle.
- My character repeatedly attempts to become an abstentious man in a world where being a hard drinker is mandatory.
- The netcode often feels like it was ported straight from mazewars, that late 80s lan game for toaster macs.

I still like these races but all these issues are making them slowly lose their appeal. I hope some strong balancing changes are on the menu for the near future. Really looking forward to that netcode / server stability upgrade patch as well.

GG all, see you next race.

this is feedback that you could charge GGG for. These races are basically a know-how race; party-racing is cheaper on portals/ids scrolls and faaaaar easier. I was a bow dualist partied with 2 mara's/ 1mara+1ranger at the end and the most telling aspect the entire time was just how much other classes have to hide/portal/switch gear/waste time compared to mara's. The boss fights need to be tweaked for number of players, brutus at level 9/10 solo is gambling on a coinflip, the same scenario as a 3man party is a sure thing/sam with merv. Didnt reach vaal, bottled it.
Tell me more about how OP Marauders are, after despite being the most played class by far (80 Marauders compared with 52 of the 2nd and 3rd most played class), there were 3 Marauders in the top 20.

Hoping to get to at least level 10, pretty excited about this!
I think the best way to balance this is to give for exemple some earlie aoe dmg skills as level 1 reward for all classes.
Lightning strike, lightning arrow, well you know

well, there were 4 for a start. They are OP in 3h hardcore races in a class v class weigh-in.

Fortunately as you say they are the most popular class which means the competition is tougher, which evens out the race benefits. The minute that ceases to be the case or people feel like they have no chance for the topspot with other classes (as they do with panda at the moment), mara will be the class being played by 90% of the racers.

I was in 12th place at the 90 minute mark and was 2-4th marauder. I Really have no idea, point was I was 1.5 levels behind you, but more importantly a huge>>>HUGE quest completion % behind and would not catch up.

I log and go off to do something like eat dinner. Sure I guess I should stick it out in case you die and I do well (I had unREAL drops - Hillock rare ammy + Rare 2h to start with and more in act 2- that would have closed the gap between your clearly better race knowledge and speed and mine and given me a small chance solo unless my level 22 mace luck was beyond terrible).

So take it with a grain of salt.
"When I close my eyes, I see this thing, a sign, I see this name in bright blue neon lights with a purple outline. And this name is so bright and so sharp that the sign - it just blows up because the name is so powerful... It says, "Diamond Supporter."
I insist, other classes needs aoe skill reward option to level 1.

races are just unfair vs somone ground slamming

while they 1-2 shot 4 mobs, the other classes needs to make like 5-8 shots to kill the same amount of mobs.

Ground Slam is weapon dmg based (2 handed, wich makes its dmg increases a lot and fast for earlie game), and gets buffed for +dmg gear

Fire trap doesnt
Freezing pulse doesnt
Lightning arrow does, but with a much higher mana coast progression and lower aoe range
Split arrow does but it doesnt drop as earlie quest reward
Ethereal knives doesnt and have huge mana progression compared to GS.

The only aoe that seems to be competitive to GS is Lightning Arrow (earlie reward), and Split arrow (if you get luck in drops)

Im not qqing with this post, just trying to put some feedback from what I sense from last races. Most people dont play marauder because they like the class, but because it is the easiest class to race with, and thats something GGG probably dont want: players picking a specific class because theyre first choice is unbalanced compared to other classes.

Sorry for the bad english.
