Not really sure why Discharge was featured in this weeks video when it is so clearly underpowered. I wish this build was partnered with a dual arc totem build to clearly demonstarte the lack of dps.
I have a pretty fun build I've been playing with. It's not necessarily the best end game build or as efficient in killing mobs as other builds, but I think it really showcases some of the cool things you can do with PoE skills!

I am lazy. Super lazy. My shadow is a pretty decent spellcaster, but I was getting sick of constantly spamming curses on everything so I grabbed a Raise Spectre and reanimated a Sin Lord to follow me around casting curses for me. This is probably one of the most underrated skills in PoE! Even if you aren't a summoner, you can grab any mob that casts curses, have them follow you around and cast them for you. With Discipline and a Life Flask of Animation you can keep the Spectre alive indefinitely without investing in Minion Life nodes.

Now that got me thinking. I was getting sick of having to constantly recast my Fireball totems too. I wonder if I can get my totems to move with me like a minion? Enter Lightning Warp Spell Totems! These are great. They're like moving AoE turrets and depending on the map they can follow you from mob pack to mob pack (they sometimes have targeting issues though, and need to be recast).

To amp up the damage I linked Lightning Warp to Conc. Effect and Faster Casting. The result is two rapid warping totems that do decent damage!

Combined with Freezing Pulse linked to Mana Leech, Life Leech and LMP, my shadow can run a map while the totems and Spectre deal AoE damage and curse things for me!

Shadow Skill Tree Allocation

Now I got to thinking, how can I make Lightning Warp do so much damage that it can be my main damage source? I started off by linking Lightning Warp to Concentrated Effect, something to increase the minimum damage to raise the average (Added Chaos Damage), and le piece du resistance...Remote Mine! This ended me up with a Lightning Warp that did over 2.5k dps and could hit multiple mobs twice! Wow, not bad. The only problem was with all those links the mana cost was over 240 mana/second. Ouch.

Unavailable

Solution? Make a new character! The goal was to sustain that massive amount of mana cost, so I made an Eldritch Battery Witch. With a few ES armor pieces and Discipline I can reach almost 250 mana/s regen and 3k mana! This allows me to chain cast Lightning Warp Mines, then pop them all at once for massive amounts of damage (and spectacular visual effects if I do say so myself). Sadly, my Witch isn't very well geared so I could only manage about 1.5k dps on my Lightning Warp Mines--this is still enough to clear content and one shot a lot of mobs however. I think once I get some better gear and have some more survivability, I should be able to walk into a big pack of mobs with Immortal Call, place a bunch of mines, pop them all at once, and kill everything!

I think these two builds combined would make a great Build of The Week because it is very fun and showcases some of the crazy things you can do in PoE. To my knowledge, using a Spectre purely for a curse slave and Remote Mines haven't made an appearance in any builds of the week, so this build could enlighten unfamiliar people about these two cool mechanics. If you have any questions, feel free to pm/skype me.

Thanks for reading!

PS I had to borrow some gear from my Shadow to supply the Witch, so depending on which (or both) you choose to make a video on, you'd need to swap around gear.

lol that is indeed a crazy and original build :)
It would be great if you can make a video too.
I'm pretty sure it would be chosen for a botw video ;)
I've had horrible issues whenever I try to run FRAPs with PoE. I have no slouch of a computer, but the videos come out super choppy with dropped frames. Could you suggest an alternative to record with or settings that work with FRAPs?
I know I already posted my build but I've slightly revised the talents (added Elemental Equilibrium) and changed up my gems.

Character name: Lannik
Build: Fire resist reduction + Shock stacking (name is work in progress)

Flame Totem as my main damage source. A minimum of a 4L is required for Flame totem->Fire Pen->Added Cold damage->added lightning damage. Some other supports that would be good for 5/6L would be LMP, GMP and fast cast. Why I use cold and lightning damage will be explained soon.

Secondary damage source is Arc. A minimum of a 3L for Arc->added cold damage->chain. If you go 4L or greater I would use Fast cast support above all else.

Why do I what I do?
Well as Elemental Equilibrium has been explained in other threads. It is a debuff that is applied when you cast spells. A spell with one element will be -25/+25/+25 resists. Two elements would be -50/+25/+25, and three elements does not inflect the debuff at all or overweight previous debuffs. The main reason why I don't just do 2 elements for the totem and 1 element for my self casted nuke (or visa versa) is that I can't control the cast rate of totems. So I don't have control over which elemental equilibrium debuff is on at any time. What I did to solve this is have my primary damage source have all three elements so it is ALWAYS benefiting from the negative resists. The reason why I use chain and why I want to use fast cast is that Arcs job is to spread SHOCK and Elemental Equilibrium. The damage it does is just icing on the cake.

Besides that I also reduce resistance from monsters with Elemental Weakness and Flammability curses and the Fire pen support.

The rest of my passives are pretty much the same, two totems, battery, two curses, +20% shock chance, Inner Force (for four auras. Disc, Clarity, Vit, Determination.) and as many life nodes as possible. My current passive spec on Lannik is about right but I would touch it up for launch.

XendranTurboTank

NOTE: This build is designed to synergize with summoners and totem users. My party often consisted of TheAnother (Summoner) TT_TurboTotem (Totems), IceToRo (totems) and AgainAgainFart (Totems). If demonstrating this build, a party MUST be used. I believe this would be the first pure support build on BotW.

XendranTurboTank is a pure tank support build that takes advantage of Endurance and Frenzy Charges as well as Immortal call and auras to maintain maximum survivability, aggression hold and support to other party members. The new XP system allowed me to make a pure support character, and turbo league was a very appropriate way to do so due to the extreme DPS increase on enemies.

The most important aspect of this build is using three Enduring Cry gems in order to constantly maintain enemy aggression, allowing party members, totems and minions to stay alive and deal maximum damage without having to worry about their survivability.

This was especially important in turbo due to extremely fast and powerful enemies such as rhoas, archers and goatmen being able to nearly instantly kill party members.

Immortal call is augmented with Increased Duration, and all my active skills are supported with blood magic. I took 30% increased duration in my skill tree as well, and with further levels, more hp and duration can be obtained.

Normally with a build like this you would assume the use of more charges as well as kaom's sign, however this is not necessary due to the fact that i am constantly generating charges.

With only 3 charges, immortal call can be maintained permanently, allowing me to save quite a few points to go elsewhere in my tree, such as regen and HP. I have taken a single Extra Endurance Charge in the tree due to only requiring one point, allowing for more leniency. This is useful when dealing with rhoas, and when creeping an empty part of a map for mobs. Phase Run is also linked with the increased duration gem to allow for very fast sustained movespeed, and delayed enemy reaction time, to allow me to safely gather the initial charges for immortal call.

The use of Lochtonial Caress allows me to grant my charges to my party members without taking the conduit node. This is extremely useful, as i am permanently granting all party members +15% physical reduction and +15% resistances, as well as the ability for them to use Immortal Call without their own source of charges. This also synergizes well with my Frenzy gem, which i use to maintain frenzy charges.

I just recently augmented frenzy with Additional Accuracy, as i do not have resolute technique like in other builds. This addition is very recent, so this gem is currently only at level 1.

The use of the Crest of Perandus in my main hand alongside a weapon that grants resistances instead of damage allows me to maintain a high block rate and resistances, as well as granting me some HP from the shield. Combining this with the Stone of Lazhwar amulet allows me to also block spells when necessary.

During the race, i used Titicus Span in my offhand slot when needing to block elemental arrows, but this has since been transferred to my XendranHCIX character.

Along with this, i run the Purity, Vitality, Wrath, Hatred and Anger auras, to great benefit. Purity and Vitality allow me to maintain high resistances and regeneration, as well as benefiting minions and party members, and the offensive auras significantly benefit minions.

For a time, i used Devouring Totem to get rid of corpses and grant substantial healing, but due to this skill causing crashes i had to give it up.

My tree focuses entirely on regen and HP, with a little bit put into resistances and increased buff duration, and necessary stat points. I use the 5% increased resistance node alongside purity to grant me as much resistance as possible.

I run 4 instant recovery HP flasks for emergencies and one Adrenaline granite flask in order to give obscene movespeed in combination with phaserun to escape nasty situations. One drawback to this build is that due to killing no enemies, flasks do not recharge.

I made it from level 59 to 73 without killing any enemies (except for a few runs of fellshrine i did with poison arrow, and posisbly a few mobs in maps from frenzy), and found that it was extremely effective when spamming enduring cry to take the aggro.

XendranTurboTank's Gear:

Note: Geofri's Crest would have been useful for the chaos resist, but i did not find one. Also, the 5% exp mace would have been handy as well, due to dps not mattering for me.

EDIT: Belt and Weapon have been replaced. Resistances are now all overmaxed before purity. This would allow me to drop purity for haste, or perhaps tempest shield + determination

Zhaal, 74 Shadow, deep in the Templar tree. Using allll those wonderful Elemental Damage nodes & HP passives. No CI. Using a Death's Harp. Takes advantage of Chain's synergy when used with 2 arrows & 40% increased area of effect, 24% increased area of effect damage, Lightning Arrow as well as Ice Shot as needed.

A single 2.9k Ice Shot attacks, shocks, pierces, burns, freezes no less than 14 targets for 68 mana. Every monster yields 25 mana back upon death. 20% Chain ensures instant damage to affected enemies. This dps is about 300 dps higher with Wake of Destruction.

1 shots packs of enemies in endgame maps. Arrows will chain, shock, pierce & re-hit the original target. Projectile Weakness greatly increases piercing chance & overall damage as well as Knockback. Interchangeable with Ice Shot for maps with mana restrictions.

This build does not require a 6link or ultra high end gear, which makes this playstyle accessible to more players. It will work with a Templar, Marauder, Witch & Shadow. Shadow start is connected to Templar start.

This is the strongest, most fun build I have made since I began playing in February. Seeing it in action against the nastiest mobs in A3 would be the perfect close to my beta experience. For more detailed information, reference the build discussion which has been ongoing since August.

I must give in, its a poor Map, for my quite strong beauty of a Templar.

Btw u can make quite the same Icecaster with a Shadow.
