Okay, I've thought about it.

While auction is open: Item is searchable, bidders may place bids, bidders may retract bids; seller cannot accept bids, seller cannot retract, seller can add/remove items from stash

Once auction is expired: Item is not searchable, bidders may not place bids; bidders may retract bids, seller can accept bids, seller can retract (a "none of these" bid option is presented), seller cannot add/remove items from stash

Once seller accepts a bid (to include "none of these"): Winning bidder receives item in remove-only stash tab, seller receives winning bid in remove-only stash tab, all non-winning bids are refunded (again, in remove-only stash tabs), seller can add/remove items from stash

This maintains the maximum possible amount of skill testing for the seller; choosing how long of a duration (or more specifically, when the duration is active) is still as relevant a decision as possible. Unfortunately, a "none of these" bid option must be included, otherwise people would just make their own (free) alts and bid 1 Wisdom, then accept the 1 Wisdom bid (or similar malarky).

Most people don't want/need alchs, simple as that. I'll take 1 Chaos over 3-4 alchs almost always. This doesn't apply for the first few weeks of a league of course though.

Another thing to note is you're doing something wrong if you need wisdom scrolls. All you have to do if you somehow don't have an overstock of trans/Augs is trade your alchs for those orbs, and then vendor them. A single stack of Trans/Aug orbs sells for I think 80 or 160 scrolls (it's been over a month since I've played not 100% sure,) and that's how most people keep in stock on wisdom scrolls, which is also why most people don't even pick the things up, hence why so few sell them.

Also, one final thing. If you want things quick, you overpay or undersell, it's as simple as that. If something is worth 20 chaos all day long, there are hundreds of people selling it for 19-21 chaos all day long. Go and list that item for 15 chaos and you're very likely to find a buyer.

While I agree we need better ways to trade, they have said over and over again they are working on it and want to take the proper time to perfect it.

A quick google search for other, successful games is all the time they need.
The difference between an Auction House and what we have now is that the Auction House would actually be useful. If poe.xyz.is didn't exist, I'd fucking quit the game. Trade Chat full of bots and the forums don't have very good ways of searching for items on their own.
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG.

I think this is a good idea. At the very least, it avoids lots of the obvious problems other systems have.

Hi

This idea is quite well thought out compared to the present trading system, lets hope Bex reads these ideas.

I would think a rudimentary search should be possible,ex: player wears ev/ar gear can chk page of ev/ar gear but not any specific mods for gear like d3 auction.

and a auction merchant to initiate these transactions.

I don't see any harm in giving the player full search ability (in other words, "specific mods for gear like d3 auction"); actually, if you don't give players this functionality, they'll likely just keep using poe.xyz.is, which does give players this option, instead of using this. Which is something we don't want.

I sincerely believe we should have a silent, non-buyout, multi-bid, escrow, bid-retract auction house system.

apart from escrow, this is usually called 'by tender.'

bids (or more accurately tenders) are made in a timely manner and the seller may choose not to accept. It is very common in business (contracts) and large property (farms et al) is often sold this way.

Its a good idea here too :)
