Life regeneration Item Affix (Discussion about worthless mods in general)

while we are at it, why should a max item level base be able to roll a low bracket mod. while we are at it, every unique should have it's drop rate increased by 11000%. while we are at it we should just have an item generator so you can just spawn a perfectly rolled item

Does it hurt?
Life regen isn't a bad mod, you just have to have it on most of your gear pieces and it can make a huge difference. Think about it, let's say without any +life regen mods on your items you have 100 life regen. Now get 6+ life regen on gloves, belt, boots, helmet and you just gained 25 life regen, which is a boost of 25%. Can still get it on chest, rings, amulet as well.

That's utterly worthless man. 100 life regen is very, very low as a base and 25 is not significant at all. The bigger life pool you get the worse the static life regen stats become. You never want this on your gear becasue it's trash and a wasted affix.
Look at it this way:
max roll life regen = 7
compared to
average non-notable life regen node = 0.4%
once a character surpasses 1750 life, which happens around the 50s bracket, the node becomes better. at 1750 life they have an equal value.

max roll of attack speed = 16%
compared to average non-notable attack speed node = 4%

4x more value in the maximum rolled affix compared to the node
only characters below like 500 life get 4x the value from a maximum rolled life regen mod compared to a node, and obviously low levels are barely going to have access to ilvl 78 mods

sorry this post is a bit unorganized, napkin math

I totally agree, having mods which are all useful will create more build diversity imo.

Let's say you have 4% life regen from your passives. I'll use the marauder as an example...you get the 1.5% at start, 1% at templar, then 1.5% more under duelist.

0.04 x 3000 = 120 life regen

0.04 x 4000 = 160 life regen

0.04 x 5000 = 200 life regen

So adding let's say +40 life regen from your items isn't an insignificant sum at all, unless you go full-on path of life nodes + kaom's heart and have like 10k hp.

I have 485 regen. And even if I had 200 regen going through the hassle of getting top life regen rolls on all the items is still not even close to worth it.

It doesn't apply to people who have insane amounts of life with Kaom's and stuff. The three examples I gave above are valid and make 40-50 life regen on items a significant boost.

Meanwhile in stupid city you’re giving up 6-7 suffixes (the brackets you get resists and other good stuff) worth of stats just to get a meaningless 20% increase on life regen (IF you happen to have a really poor life regen of approximately 200 to start off with). If you have really poor gear you’d think your priority would be to get better gear with more life instead of wasting resources chasing a terrible stat that doesn’t even scale. To even obtain a decent item set that has an accumulated 40-50 (that number grows for every post you make) life regen would be very expensive and difficult; if you already could afford good gear why on earth are you looking for this terrible stat?

You've already bragged about being really bad at this game, shouldn't you stop talking about things you're clueless about?
